Should I be deleting the index.html files as well in these directories?
No, erase all files except index.html!

Okay, it's done. themes folder is now empty except for index.html

You should keep the two default themes (default and Zetagenesis), so when running in trouble, you can always fallback doing tests with a theme proven to work and less prone to error.

I said rastapopoulos but I might as well say John Doe, it was for example

So, in your database theme is still "default" ? If yes, just download this theme and
• unpack it
• put /default into www/themes/ (you must have this tree : www/themes/default/theme.html)
• clean cache again

Sorry for the delay, My last post resulted in triggering a Protector ban.

Let me work on a few things.

Alright... Here we go. Maybe.

In the few days I was banned, I had to re-evaluate myself and what I was doing on my HOA Project. The Board of Directors is growing impatient and I needed to reassess if Xoops was the best choice.

So, I have re-installed Xoops on my domain, and am ready to see how things work. Hopefully soon I will know if the same issue of having a blank top page will surface again.

As it stands right now I have the installation-default set of themes.

Let's see how well it works.

Edit:

Okay! Five minutes later, it's all happening again! http://www.creeksideatcedarpath.org is blank. Under General Settings the Default theme is default. In the Database it's set to default. Here's a list of ALL the modules I have installed:

System v2, Private Messages 1.03,
Protector 3.4, avaman 0.21,
xForum 4.13, Smart Object Framework 0.8,
XoopsPoll 1.3, extcal 2.22,
xpetitions 0.18, classifieds 2.2,
smartfaq 1.08, tdmpicture 1.05,
smartmail 0.8, DMS 1.91,
VJ Mixes 1.2(deactivated),
wf-downloads 3.2, Extended Profile v1.

I offer up this list wondering if there could be an issue with one of or a combination of these modules that is preventing a page from displaying. I'll wipe out the themes and re-install them one at a time and see where the top page vanishes.

Edit: Think I'm on to someting here. Stripped everything out leaving only System, Protector and extended profiles and the top page displays fine.

Edit: Reinstalled half of the modules back in, and all looks good so far. whipped together a Block for the Top page to make sure I know what doesn't display and what will.

hi'

What are your needs / What will be the sections of your site ?

We could suggest better modules ...

For example :
• Smart Object Framework 0.8 is no more developed, do not use it
• smartmail 0.8 is no more developed and very old, prefer xForms
• same thing for extended profile, prefer Profile module included with Xoops
• last version of Classifieds is 2.50 and can be found here

And some advice :
• I would prefer TDMDownloads 1.5 instead of WF-Downloads 3.2
• I would prefer CBB 4.02 or Newbbex 1.80 instead of xForums
