Hi

Is their a module which allows you to easily change the logo and other settings in XOOPS without having to do HTML?

Your question leads me to an indirect response: go to this FAQ
and scroll down through comments to find links to introductory documentation. There is no 'module' that will do what you ask - but you can use FTP to identify the logo image and replace it with one of your own.

These files are very useful

Above all else take the time to go through the FAQ section on this site.

I have given it a try and it has helped a lot.

But I'm having trouble resigning my image into the default theme as it is currently VERY squashed:

How to change your Logo

To change your logo, right click on the logo on your site and choose "Properties". This will show you the path to your logo and the name of your logo file. Go to the same file on your server and overwrite this with your own image, renaming your image with the same name as the exiting logo. Dimensions for the image can be changed in the theme.html in your theme folder.


I have used the instructions above but I don't know what in the theme.html file that I should change so that the dimensions are correct.

another indirect answer - sorry!
Try searching for a doc called 'anatomy of a theme'. Use google if you can't find it linked here at xoops.
You can also now move the topic to the appropriate forum with a clearer topic:
Help needed with changing image size in theme.htm

and post it in the forum for theme help - that way you'll get those who know their theme stuff and perhaps giving you the exact help you need.

In the theme.html file on the top 25% of the page, not far after the tag, look for something like this:

<{$smarty.const._YOURHOME}>
<{$xoops_banner}>


Change the width and height to the values of your logo.

If using XOOPS 2.2.4 you might also want to look at the themeadmin.html and do the same thing, this is for admin side, only for XOOPS 2.2.x versions.

Thanks for helping everyone.

I have changed the code in the theme.html file to the following:


<{$smarty.const._YOURHOME}>
<{$xoops_banner}>


But it isn't changing the demissions of the logo even tho the height and width above are correct.

Remember to enable "update theme" to make your changes active. (And to disable it when they are - as it can slow your site down slightly otherwise!)
