Since MySQL 5.0 Release

It seems that MySQL 4.0 has ceased to be developed with the last release being 4.0.26. I noticed that you can only get this version from the "Older Versions" section of the MySQL.com site.

So a couple of questions:

MySQL 5.0, anyone using it with XOOPS successfully?

MySQL 4.1 or 5.0(if works with XOOPS), How easy is the upgrade from 4.0x?

TIA.

Re: Since MySQL 5.0 Release

I moved data of one site from 4.0 to 4.1

1. Depending from charset setting of MySQL 4.1 all users of 8-bit languages can get big headache with unreadable texts
2. Just notice, that usernames in 4.1 became case-sensitive (pure english)

Re: Since MySQL 5.0 Release

Thanks for that information Lazybadger. I will look into and plan out an upgrade shortly. I still have some questions about MySQL 5, I am sure there are many changes from 4.1 (with the major version title) and still not sure if it will break XOOPS. I seem to remember several posts of problems in the forums with MySQL 5.
