You might try AMS.. which has sub-topics and you can assign which groups have access to which sub-topics..

I see many really good stats modules and who's online modules.. especially on wolfpack and warpig.

What do you folks think is the best stats module ?

How about members/who's online ??

Still looking for a guiding hand here...

I have tried cloning the template set and editing those.. not having any luck.

I tried to directly edit the modules .htm file, but while when I view my changes in the edit screen it works.. but when the module is used inside the overall site, it doesn't.

Any ideas ?

Lew.. I have found that this most often happens when you upload the wrong folder into the modules folder of your server.

Sometimes.. after you download the module and unpack it.. you'll find that the highest level folder isn't the one that actually needs to get uploaded.. you have to drill down a bit... once you hit the folder that contains the index.htm file and the rest of the .php files, that's the one to upload..

Fosterm...

I am doing the exact thing you are talking about right now.. www.lansingsportsrage.com

I find XOOPS to be a great way to manage daily news postings.

I am also in the process of developing a local e-newspaper for the smalltown I live in www.grasslaketimes.com and if you'd like to colabrate and learn together, I'd be open to that.

I use "custom block" and "myhomepage" for static content... seems to work fine.

I discovered that once you set the default template set back to the default set, that a delete button appears on the cloned templates.... fyi
