I have installed the Zaja-system theme and I am trying to overide the way a custom block looks. I am pulling data from another site using a java-script and the block is formatting it without carriage returns, I have tried the script in a simple html page outside of XOOPS and it formats perfectly.

Example
Looks like this now:

today in Britain the sky is blue
My house is very big
the chicken is old

Should look like:

today in Britain the sky is blue

My house is very big

the chicken is old
---------------------------------------------------------
How do I stop this formatting of the text in the block? I have tried adjusting the css but to no avail.

Please help.

I have used PN for about a year here at www.911jobs.net. THis site has taken a lot of time and energy and runs rather slow compared to my new site www.code33.com My personal experience:

Xoops:

*User friendly
*More usefull modules
*easy to use
*Faster then my PN site
*ability to close the site
*More options to manage the site
*Better template and theme control
*forum is faster and more intuitive
*Installing modules is easier: since it doesn't take 18 hours to fix problems with modules : "debugger"
* WF-Channels is awesome!

PN is better at:

*More themes and modules developed (although try to find them on the PN site)
*Larger community to get info from: if anyone responds (community wide CMS problem with open source)
*tracking people that visit and http refers (at least I havn't found this on XOOPS yet.

Xoops can be the absolute best
Xoops can excell if it just added these modules:

1.Webmail(on its way), complete: webmail, pop, etc all in one module, with tons of features

2.Payment module (somewhat complete): subscriptions, donations (done), Shopping cart (somewhat done), and with as many gateways as possible.

3.Media player: Complete broadband solution for mpegs (all types), etc.

With these three modules and a little posting in PHPnuke and PN, XOOPS will become the premier CMS on the internet, I guarantee it!

You have already converted myself a hard core Postnuke webmaster.

If you want a laugh see my last PostNUke post here, I was very tired when I posted it.

Hey guys new to xoops! long time frustrated postnuke user here.

I would like to say I love XOOPS it takes me 5 min what it used to take me 5 hours to do.

This Webmail module is absolutely awesome. I get some 2500 pop e-mail accounts with ma web host so now I can offer e-mail for ma visitors.

I have come across some bugs that have not been addresed:

*unable to choose which e-mail account to send e-mails from
*unable to attach files to outgoing e-mail.

some features you may have considered (I don't want to sound pushy)

*sent items folder
*save e-mail for later
*lilmit mailbox size

and a question

Does this module delete the e-mails from the server after you click delete in the module?

This CMS is the most superior content management system I have seen! You guys rock!
