try i menu. you can copy and paste the links from the pages you want to be added to the menu. then you can use your own name for the menu item and it's supposed to work. i have made my menu with i-menu. works superb. just copy and paste the links. you can also choose top links and sublinks. i-menu is the module for me to make menu items.

what kind of content you want to add? html coding? then you can also try to use the icontent module.
