I mean when I make the entry you suggested a:1:{i:0;s:9:"mysite.ca";} with phpMyAdmin, that is exactly what appears in the SMTP host(s)field under the Mail Setup Preferences in the site.

I was expecting to see just mysite.ca there, but I get the entire "a:1:{i:0;s:9:"mysite.ca";}"

I entered the information as suggested.
It is reflected in the mail preferences.
I can see no other change.
The errors persist. Mail is still sent as it should be from what I can see.

I cleared the value in the mail setup preferences and then put it back in. It is the very same, just mysite.ca.

It does not start with a:1:{. in fact, all it has is mysite.ca in that field. I do see sort of content you mention in the conf_value of the sensor_words conf_name so I believe I am looking in the right place.

Sorry, I'm very weak on the database side of things.

I believe so.
It does send mail successfully. Users receive notifications of new posts via email as I believe they should, it is just that these errors exist.

I had a site running just fine with 2.2.4. and upgraded to the 2.3 version. Later I read that I should have applied the upgrades to I believe as far as 2.2.6 before doing the upgrade to 2.3.x. It seems to me that there have been some issues with upgrades from the 2.2.x versions.

Have I completely misinterpreted something there?

Regardless, the error remains and that is the concern.

Yes, I did.

Forgive me, I guess when I ask questions about this particular site, I need to remember to include some history. It is an upgrade from 2.2.4 completed before the advice to upgrade completely through the 2.2 branch before upgrading to the 2.3.1 version came out.

I am also having an issue changing the location of the xoops_data folder as discussed in this thread. I don't know if it is all related or not.

I have noticed the following error when a submission is made to a forum in CBB 3.08. The posting appears and seems to be just fine. Mail is being sent to notify members of new postings.

Is this something to be worried about?

Notice: Data entry is not inserted - the object 'topic' is not dirty in file class/model/write.php line 180.

Then the following error appears several times:

Warning: implode()[function implode]: Bad arguments. in file/class/mail/xoopsmultimailer.php lline 176.
