important to who? haven't heard anyone listen so far, y should i expect any different now?

what fix? what committee? a committee for what exactly?

as for invitation, didn't see my name on an invitation. but either way, the 1st thing i'm gonna request is that Damaster be banned. but that ain't gonna happen, so no point in me offering any advice cos i won't be here because of him, so i have no need to fix anything.

i'll just keep coming when the pratts like marco & Damaster appear just to respond to all their false accusations and liableous comments.

marco, i'm no lawyer, but just because the financial reports aren't proper to you (whether they are or not), does not constitute proof that herko is stealing money.

all it proves is that maybe the financial reports aren't done correctly. since when does that constitute theft?

grow the hell up will you.

In case of Linux the core developer is still the project leader, and they are pretty successful last time I checked , so I guess it's not the end of the world if the Core Development Leader is also a Project Leader.

Let's look at the history of XOOPS - we had recently Skalpa as Development Leader, and Herko as the Project Leader, but I don't think that we can report great successes from that time, do we? As a matter of fact, wasn't that the time when you decided to leave XOOPS and started your own fork of XOOPS? So we had the structure that you want, but it didn't make you happy, right? So why do you think, it would work this time?

linux is an o/s not a cms, it's whole structure is different because of that.

herko may have been project leader, but skalpa still called the shots!!

project leader should NOT be the core dev leader. conflict of interest anybody?

why won't it work? lol is it working so far? no. if it was then things would be organised by now, but now we have another proposal that is a different proposal yet again to what proposal we had 2 months ago. are we gonna just keep seeing proposal after proposal?

core dev team has a lot on, their skills are in coding, let some other poor soul be project leader to organise the community etc so that the devs don't have to worry about all this crap.

but do it on meritocracy, not on what everybody thinks about the person because they are pals or enemies.

John has some good ideas, i don't agree with them all, and sorry john, i wouldn't vote for you, i respect you, but on past goings, i don't think you qualify as being reliable & the right man for the job (no disrespect intended). Your skills are best served developing and supporting in my opinion, you're a coder and a #OOPS# good coder at that, why waste that talent?

I agree with catz, this is opposite to everything that the community asked for & wanted.

Candidates for the position of Foundation Treasurer are recommended by Foundation Coordinator and the final selection will be made by the XOOPS Council. yes another sham.. nice conflict of interest arisen there.

the council controls the project? lol now the council controls the foundation too? these proposals just keep gettin worse and worse.. lol

does anybody ever listen, or do the people in charge only listen to their select pals.

i lkove a good joke, but this is feckin hilarious..

use smartprofile from smartfactory, but read the forum as there's a later version posted in 1 of the threads.

it'll save the need for editing the core as such.

but as for your above edits.

you forgot to edit kernel/user.php

your extra fields need adding to

function XoopsUser() (around line 70) you'll see the format in which to enter.

then you need to create a function similar to in format >

function user_from($format="S")
{
return $this->getVar("user_from", $format);
}

again you'll find this in kernel/user.php around 286 onwards.

then you need to add your fields to function insert() (around line 526) don't forget the %s or %u

alternatively do a search for XOOPS profile hack, it's not up2date anymore, and i no longer support it, but there's some good discussion with how to edit and add things in the forum thread..

that's not against herko, that's about the process.

ok if you're talking processes, neither was any of the XOOPS council voted in either, don't see u complaining about that process

stop with the semantics. if it wasn't for herko there would never have been a foundation.

@Damaster, neither have you done anything for XOOPS either, so why don't you take your own advice and piss off back to XC.
