Hey Monty, The module you are using is designed to show urls when the premium field is = 1

the e-mail addresses are not incorporated yet because I didn't want to expose them to spammers.

the version I plan to release next month will have the ability to upgrade the listing from the admin console(this includes showing their URL) and it will also have a more secure email function.

xDirectory is designed as a yellow pages type module for webmasters who want add another revenue opportunity to their site.

Yes, It's coming. I'm going to try to get it released in early january. I'm just working out some bugs that still remain on the admin side.

I also need to figure out how I'm going to handle the pricing information pages. since I use freecontent to display those information. I may just take it out - I'm not sure yet.

I'll post here when it's ready.

what I typically do if I'm dealing with that many records is export the xdir_links table and remove all the other fields leaving just the 'lid' column then I create a blank column for description save it and import it into the db using phpMyAdmin(or whatever DB admin tool your using).

I think that's an excellent idea! I will add that to the roadmap for future versions.

right now my focus is to get all the bugs out of the version I'm using on my site and release that to the community. then I want to add a paypal function so a user can buy an upgrade at the time they enter their listing.

After that I will work on making xDirectory a more Internationally-friendly module.

Thanks for the input.

hello bobbyc,

You need to upload corresponding data into the xdir_text table in order to get the data to display.

The module is looking for a description with the same 'lid' and if it doesn't find it nothing will show up but it'll say there's x number of records in the DB.

Let me know if that doesn't work.

Hello cmagana, The guides I have are basically another installation of xDirectory with a few minor(cosmetic) changes. I only changed the layout of the template pages and left the .php files alone. oh, and I did a search for /xdirectory and replaced it with /guide

That's basically it.

Thanks wtravel, I have been tossing that one around for awhile. The only reason I keep it is because I have the latest listings on the home page which are in all different categories. But I agree...It is a bit redundant on the individual category pages.

It's an easy fix on line #10 in xdir_link.html for anyone wanting to remove it. Just delete this line: (<{$lang_category}> <{$link.category}>)

Thanks for your input

Thank you jlm69, I plan to have something to release sometime after Jan 1st.

Here's what I've been working on:
1) 5 premium services(revenue opportunities/listing upgrades)
2) Web Email (allowing users to email the business without displaying their email address making it a more secure way of providing email).

Where am I?
1) listing upgrades(done - some minor bugs I'm still working out)
2) web email(done)

I'm still working out some bugs with the "modify listing" page and some other admin functions but I should have something to release early January.

Sorry it's been so long, but It'll be worth the wait when it's ready.
