PiCal permissions error

Hello,

I tried to register and post a question at PiCal's website, but I was unsuccessful (the blank white page appeared). So, I'm hoping someone can help me here.

I'm using XOOPS 2.2.3 and PiCal .84b. When I try to set permissions in both the Category and Global areas, I receive the error "Invalid Area or referer".

Since I was using this on my local server before moving it to a hosted server and didn't have this problem, I'm going to assume that this is a database and/or server permissions issue. Other than that, I don't know where to begin to look.

Any help would be appreciated!

Are you saying that users of 2.2.x will have a difficult time "transferring" to 2.3?

There is little documentation comparing the versions available for download (that I can see). Is there documentation telling users that many modules are NOT supported in 2.2.x, without doing a forum search BEFORE you download and install?

If you are using version 2.2.3, you need to go to the admin panel > modules > extended profiles > users. This will allow you to add users manually.

You need to edit the template xdir_index.html. The line you are looking for is:

<{if $category.count is div by 3}>

You need to change the '3' to a '2'. You also need to change xdir_viewcat.html and xdir_viewalpha.html.

I'm getting this message also. It's enough to give someone a heart attack! I almost passed out. The site was working fine when I logged out last night. Now, it won't let me do anything!

Does anyone know what causes this? Better yet, can anyone help fix this???

I haven't recovered from the shock of seeing this message!!

I found out what the problem is. This happens when there is a problem accessing the database on the server. Host fixed the prob.

Have you cloned (and generated) your templates, and then updated the system?

Not that I can easily find. What I have done is uploaded images to the image directory and then added image URLs in the description.

Perhaps there's an easier way, I don't know.

I looked repeatedly and haven't found a "comparison" chart. I am using 2.2.3, because when I found XOOPS that was the latest release, and I thought "okay, I'll download that", which is what most people do (download the latest release).

There are times I regret downloading 2.2.3, due to some of the modules not being supported, but I just "make do" and use plenty of plain ol' HTML.

IMO, there should be a comparison guide or at least a description of each release along with the disclaimer that many modules are not supported in 2.2.3.

If there is such documentation, it is not easily found and my apologies for not finding it.

Go to Admin > Modules > mxDirectory and click on "Add/Edit/Mod Listing". At the bottom of the page, it will say Modify Listing. Input the listing ID, and you will get the modify screen that allows you to select images.
