i am not new to xoops, i installed 2.1.1 and i saw there are no more default modules... now i don't know from where to start and which modules to choose to have at least the basic features of the XOOPS i know... what do i have to do?

Hallo! I would like to change to way news are displayed in home page. Instead of a list of short stories i would like the page to be divided in areas (cells of a table) and in each cell to be displayed only the title of the news belonging to a specific category. Is that possible anyway?
