Did you turn on "Check Templates For Modifications?" in your admin >> System >> Preferences >> General Settings?

Reasons why I dont use the XOOPS rss feed.

1. sometimes it doesnt add articles.
2. Bandwidth.
3. Some articles you would want in your feed.

these are the reasons I use an XML file and Feedburner.

1. Feedburner give you a banner like the one in my sig and it updates when your feed updates :)
2. Readers use feedburners bandwidth not mines (apart from the logo of course). But you dont have loads of calls to your feed on your server.
3. You can add articles from anywhere on your site that are relevant to what people want to read and not just any old post.

So if anyone wants to do the same then click on the article below:

Right, just been looking at your website and it is already using "News", you must be using an older version.

Newer versions are now using the titles from the article. just check out my website (see sig) and you will see for yourself.

What version of news are you using?

right in my user menu (not my main menu) within my theme it uses certain smarty tags to tell whether you are a registered user

<{if !$xoops_isuser}>

and also whether you are admin

<{if $xoops_isadmin}>

Is there something similar for other groups?

It looks as thought you may have deleted some tags for a table, could be tr or td. I cant tell without actually seeing the theme.html

I dont have multimenu and would prefer not to use it.

Is there no way to do it using a smarty tag?

I want to create a menu in my theme that only shows when a member of a certain "Group" logs in.

Is this posible?
