As mentioned in other threads, we're currently developing a webmail module. We have a project on dev.xoops.org: you'll find there latest stable and development versions.
The module is called WebMailFX. Last stable version is 0.82_frz (which will soon become 0.84); last development version is 0.85.
We advise users to use stable one in their production sites: though they lack some features and some are not working, they are enough safe to use.
You'll find more infos on the following sites:

I've been away for couple of days and, being now back home, I read about some activities going on on module development. I believe some additional infos would be helpful:
1.In the xoops.org website there's a link to download a 1.0 version of the module: this is wrong and it's probably due to an error we committed when submitting the file. The latest stable version is 0.82_frz: it is quite stable, though not complete and with some features not woorking the right way. It could be found here.
2.Shortly after starting working on the module, we opened a project on dev.xoops.org: it is called WebMailFX.
3.On project pages, you'll find useful infos, support and latest development files. Latest dev version is 0.83.1d.
4.We established a roadmap to 1.0RCx release: we trust to get closer and closer to this version in next days.

Hi kaotik!
Why don't try to have a look at the xoopsgallery code? It perfectly uploads files in the specified directory.

0.82_frz works. It has basical features but works.
If you like to help in development, move to dev.xoops.org: we currently have a dev version 0.83.1d which is introducing a lot of new features.

I could answer referring to my personal experience.
Xoops community produces a lot on interesting stuff. The problem is that, as often happens in the Open Source world, good piece of software are abandoned/not finished.
I and some other guys are actually working on a webmail module: it all started just for fun and, day by day, we're getting this close to what we imagine "it has to do".
This, and a lot of others projects, needs only the active help of XOOPS passionate people. The choose it's just on you. I choosed XOOPS because the core of the system is, to my mind, the best one out there.
So, let us all help this community to grow up!

Hi EMS Guy!
Any notice/remarks/suggestion is appreciated. More appreciated are contributions to the project: if you know how to fix a bug or add a feature, just go to dev.xoops.org and visit the project page. Ask to be in it if you are able to code/debug php-mysql or you think you could help in any way.
Concerning your question:
yes, mail are deleted from the server.
Bye,
