X_SITEURL and Auto Format bug (blocks admin)

when creating a custom block, if you set the type to autoformat, but use a bbcode url like so:

[url={X_SITEURL}modules/AMS/submit.php]Submit News Articles Tutorials[/url]

then XOOPS will apparently parse the bbcode first, places http:// in front of {X_SITEURL}, and when the site url is placed into the url, it's a broken url due to the extra http://

fyi.

once you get it setup, it actually simplifies moderating multiple sites a bit

thanks

yes, i have 3 subdomains in the 'network' of sites (the last 3 links i believe). it doesn't really matter what type of domain your site is on, but matters more about what tables you share, how you share them, etc

i used a multisite modification of my own, but it's still early, so it still requires a good amount of php handling for settings and whatnot

i have all the sites installed using the same physical location of xoops, so i create symlinks (in linux, kinda like shortcuts) for each site to the core set of files.

i set up one site, then copy that site's db tables to all the other sites.

i have most of my db tables shared, except for about 8 or 10, something like that, so it was ~10 tables that exist uniquely for each site.

the rank/avatar tables are shared across all the sites, and since the sites share the same physical files, the ranks/avatars are available to every site

hehe, long explanation for a simple answer

Sup guys, I've been a member of the XOOPS community for a *long* time now, but have just tonight released my first XOOPS sites. I ported users from my previous Nuke site, but everything else is fresh content (very bare at the moment).

Anyways, here's the links, tell me what you think
If you register, there's only a need to register at one site, user db is shared across all sites.

HLMapCentral (Half-Life)
CSMapCentral (Counter-Strike, CS Source, CS: Condition Zero)
DoDMapCentral (Day of Defeat, DoD Source)
FAMapCentral (Firearms)
NSMapCentral (Natural Selection)
TSMapCentral (TheSpecialists)
HL2MapCentral (Half-Life 2)

freebsd is a good server OS, i think you'll like it. i have it installed on my server, and this has been the easiest server to manage (installing/configuring server software was easier than other versions of linux, but i had to learn a few commands since i had never used fbsd before). i've never had problems with XOOPS and freebsd, so you should be fine.

btw, look into the Ports system that freebsd uses (it's a method for keeping your system up to date, installing new software, etc... makes everything easy if you learn how to use it)

I've never been sure why it was called the Site Info block. it only shows Admin group members, I guess making the public aware of a site's staff.
