I had a word with my web host again, they said they now have new servers for both windows and linux, so i can get a new account on these servers and they would upgrade their php to 5. but later they called back to say that php5 is not stable on linux but they can give it to me on windows as its stable for windows. So Should i take the windows hosting with php5 or its better to stick to php4 on linux. they have also assured that when php5 is stable for linux they will upgrade it themselves.

the hosting seems to be good as i havent had any problems with them for the last 6 months that i have been with them, the support also seems to be decent enough.

i want to know a couple of things

1. is php 5 stable on linux, because my web host tells me its not and i see a lot of module developers deciding to make modules for php5 only

2. my web host does not have a mod_rewrite installed on shared servers is there any way around this if i want to use short urls for my site.

Is there a way to add meta tags to the pages published by mastop publis? I tried xbs tags but not sure how to use it specially with mastop publish.

On my homepage i have some custom made blocks with images in them. I want to add the alt description to these images. Any way to do this.

I had already checked those links b4. Thanks anyways.
The first link mentions that the problem was with spaw version 1 and upgrading it to 1.o4 will solve the issue. The editor that i found on dev.xoops site is 1.07 version.

Also if not spaw is there any way to create custom modules using anyother wysiwyg editor.

i need the spaw editor coz i m using the altsys module where custom blocks can be created using spaw editor. Will it be safe to install spaw editor for this purpose.

Is 1.07 the latest spaw editor for xoops. I saw some vulnerability report on this site. Is this version safe to use.

i have another problem with sitemap 1.30a. The module is visible in main menu only when the visitor is logged in. i.e to a non-registered visitor there is no sitemap link in main menu. Please help. still trying to register at peak XOOPS site. Probably will go to a cyber tomorrow and see if can register.
