I'll just reiterate what has been said already: A change of theme, a bit of a reorganisation of your page layout and you'll be sweet. Nothing wrong with the theme you have, but when you've seen a lot of sites with variations of that theme, it does get a bit tired. That could be another way of persuading your committe, if you need to - ask the other guy to completely change the "look" of the site, and change it back again in a few minutes. Bet he can't do it. (of course, you would have another theme prepared to show them how easy it is with Xoops)

Also, you said he mentioned using HTML instead of PHP. That site he did has all file extensions of .php?

That site you provided the link for, has the 2nd right column hard-coded in - it's not part of the XOOPS "block placement system". The only option you have is to do what is suggested above and re-code theme.html so that the center-right blocks are in their own seperate column and are placed next to the right blocks column.

You'll probably have to edit the css for your theme so the new 2nd right column looks more like the original right column.

I agree 100% with msdana here. It's so disheartening to visit the XOOPS site and read these numerous complaint threads that crop up nearly every day, or threads like Herve's or James' where people have "resigned" or "quit".
I know this is not directly the fault of the devs, mods, or any one person or combination thereof - but all these threads are created for a reason, and not all are just for the purpose of causing trouble. And that doesn't include all those who contributed a lot in the past, but have slowly drifted away elsewhere. I myself have basically stopped contributing to the forum, because i'm sick of all these threads/arguments/complaints too.

I really hope you're right James. Time will tell, I suppose.

No need to go to that trouble. Just go tohttp://www.yoursiteurl.com/user.php and log in from there.

The admin link should be on the user menu.

Not sure about cloning, but you may want to upgrade to Article 1.03: see the news item on the front page.
