I have just installed news 1.44 and news 2. The news 2 clone will show a story or article on the main module page if yes is chosen in the editor. The news 1.44 however will not show the chosen article(s). Is this a common problem or is it me and does anyone have any suggestions?

I had installed the XOOPS Protection mod yesterday evening but I de-activated for a bit today to see if that might be the problem, didn't change anything.

ArMS Database Issue

When trying to add a new section into a category in the ArMS module it will not add the section giving me the message . . . There are no categories in the database!

When I go into phpmyadmin the category is listed in the database and I have successfully added one section into it already. I tried going into the XOOPS admin panel and re-installed the ArMS module and this did allow me to add the first section that I mentioned. It however is not working for me now. I continue to get the same message.

Also . . .

The image in the ArMS module says version 0.3 when I d/l'd what appeared to be the 0.4 version from the module repository. Is this simply that the image was not updated with the code to 0.4 or is there an update somewhere that I need to d/l to update to 0.4? There is a section in the mudule install that gives me the choice of updating from version 0.2 to 0.4 but no option to update from 0.3 to 0.4.

Thanks for the help for a newbie. Everything has been so easy thus far and I am loving Xoops, this is the first REAL problem I have came across.

I have only just installed XOOPS in the last week and do love it by the way. When you visit the site, please be kind as it is still jumbled having duplications of topics because I'm trying different article and news modules.

I have installed the ArMS module and found that it has options that I am looking the for but in the block (upper left hand side) it is showing a count (number of articles in section) along with the title of the section. I was wondering if anyone could tell e how to remove the count portion of the link. I tried going in to modules/arms/templates/blocks/secs_dtld_side.html and removing the portion of the link but it did not work . . .

Quote:
<ul class="menu_list">
<{section name=cats loop=$block.arms_cats}>
<li><span class="text_on_black"><{$block.arms_cats[cats].title}></span></li>
<{section name=secs loop=$block.arms_cats[cats].secs}>
<{if $block.arms_cats[cats].secs[secs].art_count > 0}>
<li>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="<{$xoops_url}>/modules/arms/view.php?w=sec&idx=<{$block.arms_cats[cats].secs[secs].id}>" class="menu_link"><{$block.arms_cats[cats].secs[secs].title}> (<{$block.arms_cats[cats].secs[secs].art_count}>)</a></li>
<{/if}>
<{/section}>
<{/section}>
</ul>

My apologies for not being very experienced in the dynamic type code that is used.

Thanks up front.
