Hi all,

First off, I know how annoying it is to answer the same questions over and over. But I have search the site, the guide, FAQ, and forums. I have found plenty of info, but still need some help. I have uploaded a few new modules and played with them, but I don't think they are quite right for what I'm tryng to do. Maybe I am, but it doesn't feel right.

I just started using XOOPS a few days ago. Loving it so far. My first site was a learning experience, but was plain old HTML done with Dreamweaver MX. I got about 350 pages on it and ave 1500 visitors/day. The problem with this is the time it takes to change something or update the site. I'm on dial-up so ftp is super slow when it is updating 300+ pages. I used the template system, but even after changing a template, you still have to upload the updated version of the affected pages. I started using "<includes " whiched helped. But now I'm trying to start another site and after my first experience I smartened up and decide to learn how to use a CMS.

Here's my background. I have no experience coding, and can barely do HTML; CSS...forget it. But I can go into files and tweak the code somewhat with helpful advice.

Here's my questions.

1. How can I anchor a block to the bottom of the page (center)? Example, I built a block called "Ads" for hold a google code. I placed it center, and weight of 1 (the heaviest for that placement on that page). It displays fine except for being at the top of the page and the article (using "Sections" module) content is under it.

Do I have to embed the block code into a template to get it stay at the bottom? If so, which template(s), the /english/theme.html or another one?

2. I want to display news feeds from other sources, via RSS2. Which news Module will handle this best? I like XHLD and Freecontent WebDigest modules but, is there a module that has more customizable options through the admin? Like be able to display the headline and part of the teaser, then when you click "more" it brings you inside my site to read the whole feed (the whole as in what I recieved throught he feed)? Then when you click the headline or the "More" from inside, it takes you to the source of the story. And it would be nice if I could display the feed in a block on the right or left edge of a page.

3. Has anyone came up with a way to customize the meta tags for each page individually, yet? I plan to have a lotof articles (100's) and would like to be able to adjust the meta keywords, page title and description for each one. Would it be possible to hack a module like Icontent, Tinyconent or other modules used for article managment; to display as part of the form a meta info option when adding the article? And if left blank, the page would use the stanard sitewide meta info.

I guess that is it for my questions for now.

Thanks for listening. I appreciate any help you can provide.

Later,
Rob
