Ok this isn't a 911 anymore I have restored to the old version.

My problems is still the same when I upgrade to the new version the new menu system has following items missing:

Modules - Blocks - Users

"Misc. Tools" is blank there is no menu caming down.

everything else seams to work fine.

What can I do, would suck to be stuck at this version.

Thanks

Ok
I just watched the Flash tutorial (Thanks great work)
I can see the menu up top but I don't have followning links, they are not there?

Modules - Blocks - Users

Misc. Tools is blank there is no menu caming down.

The menus Action and Preferences work fine.

A reinstall isn't fixing it, what else can I do?

I reinstalled all again.
I have turned off gzip, why do I have turn that off or was i supposed to turn it of before install?

I still have menus missing in the admin menu

However i found that I can access the pages by entering the link in to the browser like this:
/modules/system/admin.php?fct=blocksadmin&selmod=0

There I added a block and it shows up on the front.

So it seams it isn't all that bad - I just got admin menu items missing but I can access the pages.

I don't know for sure because I don't know all the links but blocks does work. Nice work by the way, guys!

So why are my menu items missing?
Where are they supposed to be anyway?
There is nothing in Misc.Tools

Oh and old block links like follwing don't work anymore, but that isn't a big deal if I can just get my XOOPS admin and system menus.
modules/piCal/admin/myblocksadmin.php

Any ideas?

I have switched to the default templates there is more wrong then just the templates.
In my Classifieds module there is a link for blocks, when i click on that I get a blank page.
That is the only link to blocks I have.
Quote:
First check the templates section and see if any need generating.

There is no templates section along with module install and block maintnance it is missing.

I will restore from backup and restart.

I will turn all modules of before i upgrade and then turn them on one by one.

I let you know what happens

Site is up but lots of thinks are missing.
Since this is all new to me I don't know what is normal and what isn't but I will start with the major stuff where I am sure something must be wrong.
I upgraded from 2.0.9 testing each upgrade and didn't have a problem untill the last major 2.2.3

1) The first admin page is blank
2) Menu now on top left, there is one link for system the rest are all modules, but in system there is no link for module installation block maintnance. etc.
Only Search Options, Meta Tag, General Settings,Word Censoring, Mail Setup, Auth options.

My whole front page was full of blocks, they are all gone except the onces in the far left, the blocks from the news Module are also gone. But when I go in to forums, or other modules the blocks are still there.

I was going to update the modules but I can't find where the install, upgrade links are for modules, they are not here.

I will keep searching and hopefully not find more things wrong here.

Thanks for your help, I really need it right now.

That is true as of how it is now too, right?

The files aren't owned by nobody they are owned by the virtual host name as of now. Only apache is running as nobody.
Let me explain what I mean. I am running cPanel have created a new account lets say as john. Have upladed and created the files as john so they are owned by john.

If I log in as root and create a new file it is not going to be owned by nobody, or the virual host name john, it going to be root, right?

Let's go back to the problem.
The problem is that I have to chmod the folders cache and c_template as 777.
What I need is 755. So if I change apache to run as apache rather then nobody can I then change ownership of folders cache and c_template to be apache rather then john and chmod only those folders to 755?

I can change what, root not starting apache?

I don't get it.

I understand apache is running as nobody on my server.
Would it not be bad changing folders to be owned by nobody, that would be the same as 777, right.

So what I should do is change apache to run as a user called apache by creating an account for apache.
I just checked there is already a user apache.

In that case all I have to do is change nobody to apache in httpd.conf and then restart apache, right?

Now I go in and change ownership of the folders cache and c_template to user apache and thats it, right?

Sorry, I know how this must sound, please forgive me.
It just has to be right to the point.
