Xoops Multi-langages is still in "patchwork" domain!
For example, i'm testing it on a site with English, Français, Italiano e Portugues. When you'll try to publish an article with a title like this,

Quote:

[en ]This text is in english[ /en]
[fr ]Ceci est un texte en français[ /fr]
[it ]Questo é un testo in italiano[ /it]
[pt ]Isto é um texto em portugues[ /pt]

You'll understand quickly where the limits are !

I'm using the following solution :

The Easiest Multi-Language Hack (EMLH) 1.21
(one only file to configure)

++ Module to admin languages

Site Language

++ Module to translate

Language Tool

++ Creation of one html block, Module+Hack

<a href=?easiestml_lang=en&lg=english>en</a>
<
a href=?easiestml_lang=fr&lg=english>fr</a>
...

I've been testing two solutions, the one from Marcan - Smartlanguages - but it requires to much hacks to the core, and this one from GIJOE et Rowd! The last one is really the easiest and completely one with less issues to update.

P.S. maybe your site structure will allow you to use a module like "News" and create topics and subtopics for English, German, etc languages!

Above all, common sentence :sorry for my english !

I'm glad to see XOOPS opening its arms to world !

Dream your XOOPS Global,
Act your XOOPS Local !

A few weeks ago, some master was sending "letters" to some local communities and posting here asking each others to recognize its own errors and to look at those (mentioned xaraya) that do better to progress, how to work together and remain humble keeping spirit's united, strongest. But the post was deleted. And the letters never got answer. It seems to be the XOOPS everyday bread.

There's outdoor more people speaking chinese, japanese, french, spanish, portuguese or italian than english. There's much more improvements coming from local communities (like the security improvements in the last release), that's why i hope you (LT & CT) will stopping to wish the world turning around you and at least still modest acting wisely.

Xoops.org should be used as a clean frontpage to global/international project news (with a translators team) and it would be fair to treat english support like any other language (maybe using prefixe redirecting to local support).

What distinguishes this project from another, who made it, who is using it ?

One more sign of the bad health of Xoops?
Discuss about it can be therapeutic and define XOOPS diagnostic!?

Well, it seems XOOPS has been sick in its code, in spirit, XOOPS loses its cells... its humanity... for more than two years now..
After several transplants, it's the rejection!
Xoops misses transparency, functional organizations, processes, XOOPS lives with a sick heart, a lung absent and a liver inexistent!

Déjà vu, for those which remember phpnuke and postnuke history, the result will be certainly the same...

- A New Fork !?

Since a long time the secretism generated a cancer.
It's necessary before misfortune propagate, to make recourse to amputation through a realistic truth to preserve specific zones, sites of production for the safeguard of some futur!

- I hope! And should pray for local communities...

P.S. maybe some think that gifts will make it going better! But if somebody drown, you give a green ticket to him or rather the hand!?

The last project manager ported to XOOPS was phpcollab but they stop to support xoops. You can search for wsproject (v.0.7.12), project -manager, play with netproject or myforge.. at the end, can't compare any of these mods to dotproject. It's one of the many lacks!
