By the way,... by the end of the 1950s, the USSR had put a satellite in space and flown a spacecraft around the moon. In 1961 they flew the first man in space. The world then began to take interest in space exploration, especially the US who began a space programme of their own to rival that of the Soviets.
The space race between the US and the Soviets had continued throughout the 1960s. Kubrick’s film came out in 1968. A year later NASA landed the first man on the moon. And the space race continued in the cinema; since the moon landings, Hollywood has produced dozens of films about astronauts and space exploration. The popularity of conspiracy theories following the Watergate scandal speculating that the moon landing never took place and was recorded in a TV studio (GB) - just check the light and shadows, the foot print & gravity.
It seems the human being is repeating since the beginning the same behavior in many domains of existence. We have the
Mandelbrot fractals example as a visual representation but without time to think about it we still calling it - the progress(ion)!... or
the corporation !?
