I think your problem is found in style.css of your theme:

I tried fixing it (then again I could've made a mistake). Here's the CSS file...suggestions?

Maybe it's because I'm lazy, but a simpler way of setting up the forums should be possible. It's slow (because the entire thing needs to refresh and everything), instead why not create a module (or a program that outputs data into a "setup" file) that allows you to design your forums in a speedy manner? I could develop the gui and basic functions in VB .NET, but a lot of Linux people out there would kill me for that. So this is where someone else can step in...my basic design is simple:

Have a list box, in that list box you'd have the category names, when you click on them it takes you to a dialogue box that shows all of the forums in that category. You'd have all of the attributes off the the left hand side (moderators, postability, etc). You can enter in information to add, click on a forum and modify, or delete (via right-click-> delete or some function like that). After the setup you can click on a save feature that outputs it into a SQL file which can then be updated via phpadmin or whatever you use (or probably restored by using a backup/restore module that can support single table backups/restores). It'd also support loading of the SQL for the allowance of forum changes after the user's site has been in use.

I know this post may not belong in this section, but I'd really like to see something like this get started and if enough interest is sparked I'll setup a sourceforge.net page for this software.

I think this is a theme problem...but I'm not sure. If you go to my website (www.highvoltpc.com) you'll notice that in the forums the topic and post numbers don't align (the post numbers look higher). The theme I'm using is fydarkblack. I'm using the newest version of xoops.

No, because while I can't see it on the frontpage I can see it in administration section and during those transitional pages (the ones that say something like "please click here if the site doesn't automatically refresh").

I'm using the theme fydarkblack and it doesn't display any banners. How can I make it display that banner (i'm assuming you have to add code to the css stylesheet). I'm using the newest version of Xoops. I don't know any web programming languages so if it's possible please include the code to use. Thanks.

Problems 2 and 3 have been totally solved. One issue remains with problem 1 (I upgraded my XOOPS installation to the newest version to get some added stuff), but what remains is on the frontpage I see the link called "Content" (I'm using the content .5 module). I want to hide that link and I can't figure out how to do it.

Problems with customization of frontpage

Three problems:

1)
I wanted to use the section manager to create custom articles and it works well. The problem is that one the frontpage you can see the link called "section" and I don't want that there. I've looked everywhere for a way to remove it (even going into the MySQL tables to see if it was hidden as a link in there). Also if possible I don't want to do with by editing files. If this has to be done, is there software to do this automatically?

2)
Also I wanted to use blogging software and have been using WeBLOG. It's good and everything, but I want to get rid of the We and just leave it as Blog. If this isn't possible due to license agreement issues does anyone know of good blogging software? It must be multi-user (all of my users can create blogs), the ability to have categories, moderation capabilities, commenting, and for it to be fully intergreated with xoops.

3)
Lastly on login the theme I'm using does something funny to the text that you see after logging in (the "please click here if you don't want to wait" stuff). It causes most of the text to be the same color as the background (you can still see the hyperlink "here"). How can I fix this litte bug?

Thanks for any help that I get. So that you all know, the CMS I used before this was PHP-Fusion. For more info my site is www.highvoltpc.com.
