Ok I am member of this community for over a half year officialy and unofficialy for over 2 years (lazy to subscribe) and I am waiting for the "super duper" article module. But it seems that I ll wait for much longer.

This module should have:

All the features of AMS Wf-Sections and Smartsection combined;
because that modules are (my opinion) the best, most updated and with lot of support
plus +++

Article to belong to multiple categories
Have a picture wich will be displayed in a block
Many spotlights blocks that have automatically the each category's article teaser WITH artile's picture.

Spotlights with more display options like marquees, bullets, select ets (features like wolfs multimenu)

Writers biographies with picture.
And much more that don't remember right now.

I think this will be the ultimate the one the best article module ever and will bring XOOPS to a whole new level.

So if we unite and make such a project and project team we will be the winners, think that there is no such module or cms that have all those features!

I think coppermine (xcgal) does have the feature every user to have its own album/category. (I may be wrong)

Have you searched ??? Because I know many people had this problem and solved it.

I think there is a module called extended profiles that does what you want.

Ok I read the complete thread ... and I think that is the wrong way.

It should sound like "Can the other CMS's compete with xoops?"

I mean I am lazy useless and have not much experiece in php , smarty etc (although I am good in java - study IT) but I could though hack some files, understand the structure, the database, the themes, templates etc.

I want now to show me a cms that you can do that , I don't think that there is any other than xoops.

Wich are our customers dear xoopsers ?? Do you know ?

Our customers are not newbies that want to set up an simple stuning site in 2 seconds with all the flashes lights and cool colors.
Our customers are specialized proffessionals that sell XOOPS services to their customers. They need this good structure to customize XOOPS as more they can. If you don't understand what the programmer wanted to "say" and you are looking at the code for hours that is not good for your customer and your pocket. Though the XOOPS framework is ideal for developing new modules full customized.

And not forget the security. I don't know any secure cms than xoops. I ve seen phpbb attacked, phpnuke too, vbulletin sure but NO xooops!

So if you need that graphics too, find a good designer pay for it and I am sure that you get the best graphics for your site. XOOPS is to general to pay for all that stuff attention, if not then read the following.

In great companies we have some sections for example General Electric produces :
Electrical equipment
Medical equipment
Car equipment
even some things for the military

So what we need is to seperate(not divide - broke up) to sections/divisions like:
Core
Graphics
Modules
Content
Support
Promotion/Marketing

With this we can seperate the tasks to each team and will be very easy to develop rapidly xoops.

Ok I found the solution.

The database collation shouldn't be utf8_unicode_ci but utf8_general_ci !

With this collation all things work fine !!!

What can I do to XOOPS to make it understand that the contents are in utf8 and not in latin ?
Or what makes XOOPS not to fetch the contents of the blocks ?

[EMERGENCY]

After deleted the template_c folder the blocks didn't sho up no blocks system/module/and custom !!!

I installed local webserver with php 4.4 andi MySQL 4.1 and made to version one with

latin_swedish_ci

and one wiht

utf8_unicode_ci

and made fresh install to both of them

in the latin version the blocks show up right !!
in the utf8 the blocks show up but no contents are there !!

I assume something happens with getting contents from the database.

I hacked mysqldatabase.php and the problem remains please HELP !!!
