My only guess is its a block display problem.. Go to your block display settings and maybe you have left and right blocks not visable when in Private messaging moduel is accessed...

Can someone point me in the right direction here.

I run my own server. When hosting a few XOOPS sits on my old ISP I had no troubles sending out emails for activation and lost passwords ect..

I have moved now and am with "good" old Insight broadband....

They have port 25 blocked and require me to do a ton of little configures with outlook just to be able to send out an email.

requires authentication
outgoing mail (smtp) port 465
server requires a secure connction (SSL) ect.. ect..

Is there any way to conifgure XOOPS mail options to allow outgoing mail from the site to work in this conditon? Or am I sort of screwed?

Setting permissions with own module

Hi, I am pretty new with XOOPS as it comes to creating my own modules.. Besides that I have a good understanding on how most of the engine works.. What I would like to know is I have my own module and I would like to set permissions for it.

I do know about going to groups and setting the permissions there, but I would like it so, that a guest user can view the main page of the module, but when they would click lets say on an "Add to Database" link which would bring them to another page for updating a database, how can I make it so it will say "you must be logged in to view this page..."

Pretty much what I am trying to say is, how would I set permissions per page in my module? Or can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks abunch!

Yes I also would like to know how to do this, I dont know if it the same as you want Chaosad.

I am just doing the plain old wrap the header footer around a static php file. Now I want to put information on this that only registered users can see. So is there somewhere in that file I can insert code that would say:

Sorry, you don't have the permission to access this area.
If the page does not automatically reload, please click here

if you tried viewing that file with out being logged in? Just like when you try to view a register user only modual.
