The only languages I know are English, PHP, SQL...myself

Sure, although the site is closed

I did already create a dev.xoops.org project page for it and will upload it there as well.

Credits v1.3 is a module that allows you to add movie style credits for your xoops-based web site. Often there are several people involved with running a successful site. Give them the credit they deserve by adding a credits page!

See it in action! Click Here

Looking for reviews!

Looking for translators... Mostly just the admin needs translating as well as some defaults. If you are interested in translating this module let us know.

Thats easy... xoops.

I used phpnuke for 3 years before i discovered XOOPS and when i found xoops, it was like a hot knife through butter.

Because nuke has more people, it also has more crackers, so IMHO its a bigger security risk.

Nuke seems to be really run by one guy and whoever he deems worthy. But its not a truly open project, IMHO. Meanwhile, all phpnuke dot org has on it is a bunch of useless ads becuase he is trying to suck every dime out of it. And the new features have slowed dramatically. Sure it has alot of module developers, but most of them are really really bad.

Xoops is Object Oriented. Nuke is not. this is important when time goes by. its also easier to code in OO. So developers like me really love our work for xoops.

Flexibility? well XOOPS is the most flexible CMS I have run across thus far, and im no longer looking.

The update function updates a module after you upload any new files or make changes to the templates and config files, without screwing up your database.

Yes, the update feature is very well made. For users who do not code, I think its the greatest thing ive seen in a cms. Webmasters should really love how easy XOOPS is to administer.

Xoops is rad.

Cheers,

I can convert your modules if you really need it.

I am a XOOPS module developer up for hire.

You dont have to pay for the code, just the time.

I look forward to workin with you.

Template problem in 2.0.7.1

Hi, I just installed XOOPS on a site im building and went to edit the theme.

in Admin:Preferences:General Settings I set Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory? to yes like I always do when editing a sites template.

I copied the default theme, changed the path to new themes path, and set the site to this new theme in admin:preferences.

Now the theme is stuck.
changing the default theme in preferences does not change the theme.
Making changes to the theme does not show.
Even deleting the file in templats_c changes nothing on the site.

I wonder what could be wrong? I have installed several XOOPS 2.0.7 sites in the last month and never had this problem. Only thing thats changed now is new version 2.0.7.1

Any Ideas?

Thanx,

_Dan

This is very nice.

Is this what will be developed?

What is the expected timeframe when this will be done?

Basically, XOOPS only runs modules... this is nice, except when you are first installing the site, there is no HTML content manager module.

I cant reccommend one, since i havent needed it YET, but I would probably use TinyContent 1.5 from www.chapi.de

xoops desperately needs a default module to manage HTML content. This question is asked like hundreds of times per month.

Its a great content management system, so how can we get a default module for managing HTML content??

I believe planning is 90% and implementation is 10% ... so we just need some details to really have something to program.

We need the input from the people running the musician sites. There is alot so far in this thread :)

Im ready to go on this project, let me know what I can do.

Making the jukebox play the mp3 from local server or remote URL is possible. It will stream either way with flash.

All features and requirements need to made into a document. that document needs to be frozen. then development can begin. After its at 1.0 any new features can be added to make it rock.

This will be fun to work on.

Cheers,

_Dan

ok, i will get the profiles working first...

and, I will need to spend some time planning, maybe we can set up a wiki to stockpile a features list.

We need to decide some minimum features for 1.0 and then add more features later to 1.0

I will work on a requirements and features list and post it somewhere.

also, it will integrate with as many XOOPS features as possible. like groups, notifications, comments, and whatever else makes sense.
