I think if you're going to have to either pay for a managed dns service or pay for hosting.

Doesn't DynDns.org offer a few different options for paid dns management? They should be able to properly handle your traffic so no 'forwading' occurs.

This looks like a very good contribution. I might be able to make use of this on a few projects myself. Thanks for sharing.

If anyone else makes successful use of this hack, please post here and let us know how it goes.

There have been a few threads discussing this. I have used Smarty Templates for admin pages in the latest beta release of the NoAh module. You can take a look at this module for an example. ( http://dev.xoops.org/modules/xfmod/project/?xdb )

There has been a lot of discussion and effort by module builders over the last couple of months to nail down basic documentation for module development standards. Likely dev.xoops wiki is the best place to find these contributions.

I'm looking for a guide for the Noah module. In particular how to make a parent page link to other pages.

Do you have the 'Page Menu' block turned on? The page menu block should show 'sub-pages' when you are viewing the parent page.

and yes, there is a new version on the way but check for the 'Page Menu' block before you give up and wait for the next release. :)

I gave things one more try however - removed it and tried again.... and now it seems to work :)

Strange or what?! :)

Thoughs are the kinds of bugs I like best. The ones that go away on their own. :)

Glad you go it working. Cheers.

1) hmmm, blank page with no error ? Do you have debug turned on in Site Admin -> Preferences -> General ?

2) I don't think this is an issue if you have xoogle 0.7.3 which it appears you do.

I might have to take a look myself if you aren't getting any error messages. Can you send me a private message wiht a URL where I can take a look ?

The actual module seems to install fine, however I can't see the orange admin block on the control panel - and the resulting link on the user view just brings up a blank screen.....

A few more questions.. Any error messages with on the page where you are getting the blank screen noted above?

By chance is your XOOPS site installed in a sub directory? There were some earlier bugs with this.

And finally what version do you have installed?

fatman, very glad to hear about the development opportunities for XoOgle. Ths module is not an add-on but anessential part of my site, You won't know this, but I requested a regex search a while ago and nothing came of it.

I didn't even think to try regex searches. I'll look into it and see what's possible.

Are you getting any errors when trying to access the main module page ?

I never knew about $smarty.now until I saw your reply above, but by then I had already hit send on my suggestion :P

your way certainly is much easier
