Well, what CAN I say?
I removed the fantastico installed XOOPS completely, d/l'd XOOPS 2.0.5.1, did a complete install. All well so far.
Uploaded a theme karate_redux_blue, just to have a look-see, went to sys admin/prefs/gen sets, selected the theme, OK.
Went to homepage, BLANK page. What the smeg?

And, Cblue, if after that all else fails and i still get no joy, I may have to start from scratch, and do a full install.
And that wont be too bad a thing as XOOPS is such fun to use, LOL.
Thanks to all you blokes for you help. Very muchly appreciated.

looking into the checklogin now, CBlue.
yeh, theme needs tweaking, Per4orm.

Did I mention that this was installed via Fantastico.
I already fixed the error in the DB re: sitename and slogan
But as i say, been working fine for days, only went belly-up yesterday arvo.

AND... I did an upgrade to 2.0.5 then to 2.0.5.1 two days ago.

Whoa back there Per4orm.
You misunderstood me, I think XOOPS is an awesome bit of gear and that me, myself and I had buggered up the session settings, THAT! made it a script problem.

As for my hoster, meh, ya prolly right and I will pass on the note re: php.ini etc.

Will also try your idea of repetive logging in.

No ideas for a backdoor to admin page?
Personally I think its in my sytem module, but i cant get in to fix.

Righto,
Ive had the host-bloke have a looki and all is ok there.
We have determined it must be a script problem do with sessions?
even when we register a new user, still no access at all
all are ketp anonymous even tho the script recognises the user at login.

weird

So is there a backdoor way i can get in, to see if its my groups access thingy or not? bloody hope so.

None that I know of, mithy. I do think its a host problem.
just gotta wait for him to come online so I can get him onto it.
But i appreciate yours and other offers of advice, might help him sort it faster too maybe?
IF it isnt a XOOPS problem, that is. hehe

hhmm ok, but i did just move to this host.
Tho we did do something yesterday, i added -fla filter to cuteFTP and got the host bloke to remove a folder i couldnt delete (not in XOOPS tho).
So i wonder if there was something else there that was altered , i best get onto him, eh?

Help! Login weirdo..

I have a curious problem, I open my site (still building) and attempt to login with my admin user and pass.
Then I get the white page thnking me for successfully logging in, etc. All normal so far.
Then we return to the standard index page as an anonymous guest. Not as admin.

ANYone with any clues? I'd very much appreciate some help
