The last version I worked on was 1.07. I didn't create the beta, and I don't know anything about it. I turned development over to someone else, but he apparently stopped working on it.

So you want to access the variable on different HTTP requests, not merely later on the same HTTP request?

Using a "global" variable won't accomplish that. You'll need to save the variable in one of several ways: in a session, URL parameter, form field or cookie.

I figured out the problem, and posted a bug report, with a suggested fix, here.

You don't have to do a complete install to reproduce the error. All you have to do is delete cache/adminmenu.php and visit the admin page.

The simplest way to avoid the error message is to delete cache/index.html and let the install script create it.

Billy, other than that error message, are there any functional problems? Should the release be delayed to resolve this, or is it just a "cosmetic" issue that can be ignored for now?

It's NOT released yet. D.J. uploaded it so that the packaging could be checked. The release isn't planned until at least Oct. 1.

There may be changes before it's released, such as the corrections for the problems described in this topic.

The "Strict Standards" notices are a result of using E_STRICT in the error_reporting() call; those can be ignored.

The parse error is a result of applying my debugging patch incorrectly. Or maybe there's a mistake in the patch; I didn't test it.

I'll try to get back to working on this, but I'm busy right now and don't have time.

It depends on whether the webspace is configured to allow running PHP scripts. My guess is "no", but you could ask your internet provider.

With XAMPP, if you browse tohttp://localhost/, there should be a phpinfo() item in the menu on the left side.
