Hello,
Where can I get documentation on available (general/main) variable names I can use in Xoops?

I plan to have a different style/behaviour in my site for a certain module. I want to add an if statement in my theme file, as follow: if <the-module> equal to "something" (news for example) then .... (I am not a programmer, I don't know what variable name I can use for the If condition I plan to have asstated above).

Appreciate if you can help me on this. Thanks.

Please disregard my previous message! Really apologize for this. When I rechecked the whole editing I have done on the autologin, I found that I have missed to take out the double line (//) of the cookies removing command while logging out (in the user.php).

Sorry about that.

[Note: I can't delete the message I have post, can I?]

I turn on the XOOPS 'Remember Me' feature (by removing the remarks of autologin/remember me feature on the core codes). However now, when I login and select the Remember Me check box, I could not Log Out! What's wrong?

I set the Session Expiration to 10080 (as suggested), and use Custom Session set to No.

Thanks.

Is it possible to have two/more different types of themes/templates in a single installed Xoops?

I want to have my Forum and Image Gallery (modules) displayed without the left and right sides panel, and to have different theme for the Forum and Image Gallery from my main XOOPS theme.

Thanks!

Thanks! The IBM Page Detailer is indeed a good analysis tool. I have got it installed and like it alot. I will absolutely use it alot from now on. (Will also looking at the possibility to get the Turk mmcache applied).

Can you help more, how can I cache these theme images? Shouldn't it be cache by the (user's local) browser?

Dear all,
How can i remove/not displaying a block title (only a certain block title, not the whole block title, of a section of the XOOPS portal)? I want to add an image, linking to certain section of my website, on the left side of my XOOPS portal. I tried to use Custom Block/TinyContent, to establish the simple image with a href/link, however the image is always wrapped by (my template/theme) block box and title.

For example, from the following website of mine (ss_xoops), I want to have the New Members block, for example, without the standard box and title.

How can I do that?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the input. Dropping the banner is indeed improving the performance. And I will also apply the block caching as suggested.

I tested my website using the dial-up connection previously, and in IE it for some reason is not as good as in Netscape/Mozilla. The images are always reread and redrawn (when navigating from 1 page to another.

I tried accesing my website using an ISDN connection today, seems that in this environment IE cache my theme images/top menu.

Any other performance improvement suggestion is always welcomed. Thanks once again.

As I might have stated in my other messages in the forum, I am in the process of building & upgrading my website to portal framework (and I have chosen XOOPS ).

Got it installed (and always got excellent feedback from the forum whenever I got problem. Thanks!).

I found that the performance of my website is pretty poor when I access it through Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE). My Top Menu and the theme images are always re-read (and re-drawn) whenever I move from 1 page to another page. Netscape/Mozilla - I found - provide a better performance.

Please check my website at the following address: serialsilat XOOPS and use username: user, pwd: user, to login.

Please help. How can I improve the performance of my website (as explained above)? How can I also improve the performance of my website in overall?

Thanks.
