I would like to know if there is a way to allow users to have more than one e-mail address.

I have users who would like to receive notifications at both home and work e-mail.

Any suggestions?

I am using 2.2.4.

Re: Activation emails are being sent in Russian or czech

I can't fix your problem, but I can help you get a response from someone who can.

First, is this a new problem that has suddenly appeared on a site that was fine before? - we would all like to know if this is something new.

What version of the system are you running? - very significant.

What have you done to try to fix this problem? - saves people from wasting time telling you things that you have already done.

A re-install is a standard first step.

With more information, your post may get more attention from the users.

Good luck.

I am setting up a site for some friends who are part of a golfing group.

All of us have home and work e-mail addresses.

Is there a way to have the system recognize more than one address for a single member so that any notifications go to both/all e-mail addresses?

I have set up another field in the usermanagement module, but that will not accomplish all that I want.

I am using 2.2.4.

Thanks.

When I started the site, it was an automatic install by the host company. This led to me having the address www.mysite/xoops.com. I just want to move it up to the actual root folder of my site, get rid of the /xoops and start taking more advantage of the system.

No need to change servers or move any databases.

What is the process to change the XOOPS root folder?

For example if I want to move it from www.mysite.com to www.new.mysite.com?

Is there more to it than just moving the files and updating the paths in mainfile.php?

I have just installed Myalbum 2.9 with XOOPS 2.0.17.

I've uploaded a photo but cannot view it now.

No thumbnail, no image at all when I preview or select the link from recent photos or top photos.

Everything else seems to be working.

I must be missing something basic here.

All advice welcome.

Thanks for all the great advice.

I'll stick with 2.2. I have been making use of the extended profiles and don't want to give that up.

In October of 2006 I was introduced to XOOPS. It was as easy as pushing a button in the control panel of my host company and there it was. With 0 programming experience, I was pleased.

Now I am reading that there are issues with version 2.2.3 that apparently existed when it was installed for me.

I would like to make some changes, add some themes, another module etc, but am quite paralyzed with fear to do anything at the moment.

My question is:

If I am experiencing no issues with 2.2.3, should I downgrade?

Am I sitting on a timebomb here?
Does downgrading work well?
Who is willing to take on this project for a fee?

The site is small in comparison to most with under 100 users and under 1000 posts/replies.

There is a question of security however so I will need to speak personally to anyone interested.

Have you read through the post by skenow on posting a new XOOPS site? It is one of the first postings in the Beginners' Corner.

If you have multiple module folders in place, I would remove all but one and see if you get anything.

What does the modules link under the administration menu show you?

After removing everything including and starting from scratch the same problem continued.

I finally used the back button on my browser to return to the previous installation page and have it create the database again.

The database built on itself until the proper tables were created. I don't know if that should have worked, but it did.

Problem solved.
