Need to upgrade php and apache... help ;-)

I need to update my php and apache and was wondering what the best versions would be to choose for use with xoops?... i've heard there are probs with php5...

Any help would be much appreciated :)

It's related to the operating system... if the extension .mp3 is for instance associated with winamp it will automatically stream it using that application, your only option for as far as i know, is putting the mp3 in a .zip or .rar,...

This could become a very useful thread for people who want to optimize their website for SE's...
It would be nice if we could have examples for all available modules.

For instance, me myself, i'm looking for the code to change plain mydownloads modules from

http://www.domain.com/modules/mydownloads/singlefile.php?lid=134
to
http://www.domain.com/Internet/E-mail-Clients/TigerTom-Bulk-Email-Software.shtml
domain category subcategory program name

I think this might be useful for many people...

thx in advance to all modrewrite gurus out there that might be able to help

Try good old mydownloads module... There are some good modified/updated versions available already if you do some research :)

There isn't much to judge yet...

but anyways here i go...

1) i like the clean looking logo
2) i would add some titlehacks to your modules to improve SE ranking
3) same goes for keywords hacks...

You can search fo those on the forum...

Hi,

I'm looking for something like the "incoming search terms" thing in wordpress, but then for xoops.

For example you can see it in action at the bottom of this pagehttp://nosheep.net/story/google-earth-an-eye-on-katrina/

Is this available for XOOPS or is there anyone who can make this?
Guess it would be very usefull for everyone using XOOPS as a blog

Make use of the Google sitemaps feature... google has indexed over 3000 pictures of mine since i did that :)

This simple hack? will change the default display of "last 100 days" in newbb forum to all the post from the beginning...

Look in viewforum.php for

$sortsince = !empty($HTTP_GET_VARS['sortsince']) ? intval($HTTP_GET_VARS['sortsince']) : 100;

and change the 100 to 1000

It's a simple trick but it will do you good if you want searchengines to keep your forumposts indexed :)
