I proably should have made sure this worked before I proceeded with all the modules and stuff.

I was trying to test register a user and got an error saying could not register new user.

I have the preferences set to yes for new users.

I can manually register users through admin.

What should I do to fix this?

Everything is moving along well adding my content and such but.... I don't like that when you click on a topic you don't get a list of articles to choose from it just displays the full articles that readers have to scroll through to read.
like here when
I clicked on Marketing this is what I get
http://momsbusinessnetwork.com/modules/AMS/index.php?storytopic=1

I may be missing something in the settings somewhere, does anyone know?

Thanks

I am very new at XOOPS but I am working my way through it and learning bit by bit.

I have installed Article Management System (AMS) 2.41
in the review comments on the module repository I read this:

It seems that all aprostophes ' in the articles get displayed as \'. And if an article is edited several times, the number of slashes get increased, so I often end up with articles containing \\\\\'

Someone answered this:
Make sure you have magic_qoutes turned off in your PHP environment settings.

This is happening to me now, how do I fix this? Where do I find this magic_quotes thing?

I don't dare load my content in until I have this settled.

thanks
