I have just upgraded to 2.5 on a functioning website is a couple of years old... the upgrade worked fine the site is functioning except for parts of the Admin area...

When I try to bring up the System preferences I get a white screen... the same happens with all of the System screens.

when I use the top tab for "Modules" It brings up each module... However from the system module screen I get a white page when I click on any of the specific System sections?

Is there a fix for this?

Here is the info from System Overview:

XOOPS Version XOOPS 2.5.0
PHP Version 5.1.6
mySQL Version 5.0.45
Server API cgi-fcgi
OS Linux
safe_mode Off
register_globals On
magic_quotes_gpc On
allow_url_fopen On
fsockopen On
post_max_size 8M
max_input_time 60
output_buffering
max_execution_time 60
memory_limit 8M
file_uploads On
upload_max_filesize 2M

Thank you WetSteve

It does not seem to be a forums problem... it happens no matter what module or section of the site someone is on...

I only mentioned the forums because it is the most used portion of the site... It happens in the classified section as well as in the Photo Album...

It happens when a member logs out and then when he comes back nothing is refreshing until they hit refresh in their browser...

I am not comfortable giving a membership username & password on a public forum (here)... if you contact me privately through my listed E-Mail I will be happy to give you a temp. test membership.

I am receiving a lot of complaints from the over 1000 members of www.xxx.net

It is a XOOPS 2.0.5 site, over two years old, their complaints are that they have to constantly hit their browser refresh to view any changes done since their last log on or visit...

The most active part of the site is the forums... many members are saying that they post a reply or a new topic but in order for them to view that post they have to hit their browser refresh....

Is this a XOOPS setting or is it a IE browser setting?

Thanks for any help replys...

To everybody that tried to help with this problem..... thank you all very much!

The site is once again back up and running.

I along with the tech guy at the server farm where the site is hosted were able to reload a complete back up from Feb.28th... considering the alernative the lost 12 days is really nothing and, in my opinion, accepteble.

Once again thanks to all who contacted me, reply to my pleas for help and whished me luck!

I have pretty much stalled... I can view the database using phpmyadmin....

It appears that the data base is intact....

However routing around and making any changes is a bit over the top for me.... I guess I do not yet understand the way XOOPS core is getting it's information from the database and it's tables.... and what might have changed when I attemped to do the upgrade... MY SCREW UP! It won't happen again.... now I just need help trying to recover!!!

What I need to know is this... If I start from scratch with a clean install of XOOPS can i relate it to the existing database?

I also have four other site all running under Xoops... there are no problems with any of my other sites...

I am more than willing to divuldge my username & Password for both the XOOPS admin and the myphpadmin in order to get some advise on a fix or the final so sorry!!!

I can alway change passwords later....

As I am looking in the /xoops/cache/ directory all I see is
a single file named adminmenu.php and that is all.

In the /xoops/templates_c directory

There are many files corresponding to the themes that are installed on the site along with the index.html file .....
Are you say I should delete all of these files except the index.html?

To answer the database backup question.... no i do not have a back up on my machine....

Are you suggesting that maybe the host might have a recent back up?
