iCal - private entries appear on Webmaster's Calendar

I want to be able to have my users use the iCal module for keeping track of important dates... but it should act as a private calendar. When I add a new event as a user and choose "Private" under class and select that only "myself" can see it I can see that entry when logged in using an admin account. Is there no way to fix this?

News scoop on front page?

I for the life of me can't figure out how to have the teaser text, aka "the scoop" (hometext?) on the main front page. The "recent news" block just gives me the title and date. I'd like the news items to look like they do when you go to the news page. Is there a way to do this?
