Thanks for the info. I broke down and put XOOPS on MySQL. It is running great. I looked at aspnuke but it just didnt have the feel of Xoops. I really like Xoops. I appreciate the suggestions. I am going to download the MyODBC program and have our other users link to the MySQL database.
I am just afraid that if I have any problems with the MySQL database, I dont know enough to fix it. I guess I will deal with it when it happens.
Is there a quick way to backup the XOOPS site and MySQL database?
When I installed Xoops, I told it my main http link for the server would behttp://server/. I now need to change it to direct tohttp://intranet. Is there a file or preference I can change to change the main part of the address where XOOPS directs pages?
Thanks for the info. I looked at ASPNUKE and it only supports SQL server. Unfortunately, I cannot afford a SQL license to support an Intranet site so I guess I am going back to MYSql. Thanks for the info.
It also look like XOOPS is the best designed system anyway.
Does anyone know how to install XOOPS and use Microsoft Access vs MySQL? I like MySQL but I am the only one in my IT Department that knows it and people are more comfortable working with Access for the time being.
Is there any way to install Xooops and run it with MS Access vs MySQL.
Again, thank you in advance for the help. God bless.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to write that explanation!
I went through the steps and it worked! Thank you!
The only thing i noticed is that the two buttons it added to the main menu looked different. The regular buttons had a border around them and the ones I added with your code had no borders.
I can live with it.. I am just curious as to why they look different.
Hey, I appreciate the help, but I am lost. I understand what you are saying in theory, but I dont know how to accomplish it.
I looked at the main menu template as you said and I really dont uderstand where I could put code in there. I dont even understand the code in the module.
And I dont understand what I am going into the system module to do?
Ok, but what do I use to create the button? Can I create a button under the main menu or do I need to use something else. Can you please give me advise on how to create the button from the admin section. I am new to XOOPS and dont understand it too well yet.
Thanks for the info! I tried the iframes deal and it works great!
Not to be a pain in the ass - Is there code to open an HTML link into a separate browser window for those apps that you cannot use the iframes code with?
With most of the external pages, I dont have the option to add any additional code to them.
Basically what I am asking is can I add a button with the Tiny Content module or a main menu button that will open a hyperlink in a new window?
