Wouldn't you also have to duplicate any mySQL tables that are associated with the module? I mean, if I want two distinct news modules, for example, I don't want them storing articles in the same tables, right?

Deflaming:

I meant all of that in the nicest way possible. I appreciate how much everyone in this community loves to help each other, and I don't want that to stop. I just don't want to see anything bad happen by mistake.

I don't know if this is the best place to have this sort of transaction occur.

I personally have no problem with sharing software, but we don't want the XOOPS community to be hurt because someone sees prorietary software changing hands. RIAA, MPAA, and probably SCO will get us all!

Maybe in the future, if you have such an offer to make you can do it in a private message, rather than a forum post.

Just my two cents.

Maybe your computer is just smarter than mine, and filters out all but the most useful site.

I am currently writing a reviews module that should work for you, but I don't have a release date yet (beta should be up soon, see other threads).

In the meantime, I recommend that you take a look at Lykos Reviews, here:

I believe it can provide just about everything you are looking for with a few simple modifications.

adding javascript for a module

I know that this topic's title seems to imply it is in the wrong forum, but you'll see why it is here.

I have a bunch of javascript in a module that I am writing, and I found the most convenient place to put it is in xoops.js, since that is loaded with every page already. That makes it a core hack.

Is this frowned upon? If so, where is the standard place to put a module's javascript?

Thanks for any advice.

There are 1000s of them but you will not notice them because the Powered by XOOPS has been removed from them.

I've noticed that, too. IMHO, it is extremely poor taste to remove the "Powered by XOOPS" from a site. It is insulting to all of the developers who have spent hundreds, if not thousands, of hours to create something that is so easy and powerful. After all, if it wasn't so good, you wouldn't want to use it to begin with.

Personally, I get a bit angry when I visit links that people post IN THIS FORUM that don't have "Powered by XOOPS" in the footer. I think these people should be reminded who did most of their work for them.

Also, if you are editing the template a lot and don't want the hassle of having to manually reload and recompile them, check out this thread:
