Turn on php debugging and see if there is any error warning shown, if so copy and paste it here. This may give a better idea of what is going on.

IMHO, This is probably the heavest use of WF-Section I have ever seen on a website and probably the best place to go if you want to see WF-Section in Action.

Tech:

Question on the WYSIWYG, does the editor work as it should? ie Am I getting closer with what you write is what you see in the article?

Good Work!!!

Can I use the module in a production site?
Or i must wait anytime to use this and make cosmetic modifications.

Sorry for my english.
GreatGReatGREatGREAtGREAT Module, thx.

The best political site!!!

Yes, WF-Section can now be used on a production site.

So far I have had very little bug feedback on the last two versions, which is good for me

To answer the question when the next stable version will be released? Soon, very soon!

Destrux:

When I was updating the newBB forum, I actually made no changes to the core but the Database was modified heavily.

Infact, my whole purpose was to have the version I was working on updatable with IBF and newBB (the DB structure was taken form IBF orginally).

I would still like to update newBB to the same standard or as near as IBF, site stats etc and I was trying to get as close to that standard as much as my coding (then) would permit me.

I may have another crack at this, as I still have my original code there and I believe I could transfer this across to the XOOPS 2 version of newBB.

I do apologise on my term is buggy as hell, I mean't to say 'it was as buggy as hell'. My thoughts and feeling on this is not a direct attack at Kush as he has done some excellent work on that module.

But in saying that, my reason for using it still stands.

I also like the newbb very much, because it is well integrated into the core! By installing one of the other forums you always have to mess with the core files too.

Why not enhance the newbb or create a newbb2? Maybe this is a task for the xmdt ?

I was halfway through enhancing newbb for XOOPS version 1 and I was thinging about continuing this for XOOPS version 2.

Most of the work is there and could be easily hacked into newbb for xoops2 but it would take me a while. I may try and get a few people to help me on this one.

I have just read through this thread and a couple of things I need to point out to everyone regarding this subject.

First, the IBF forum for XOOPS is buggy as hell (Sorry kush) and the original forum was not released under GNU.

This means that kush had to get permission from the original author (thats why the was removed from modcentral) and even if the XOOPS core team wantd to use it instead of newBB, they can't.

So far, every forum that I have used that has been made into a module has issues, this is due to the changes to the core (come time for an update! Need I say more) and that has always been a problem for me.

Ok, So newbb is not the best forum out there and lacks many functions that other forums take for granted, but the one point about this module is the fact you do not have to hack at the core to get it to work.

As someone pointed out, it does use notifications which most forums would kill for.

At the end of the day, it is not about replacing newbb, but enhancing it with the features that people want or use third party hackons that require the author to update each time a new version of XOOPS comes out.

thanks for your response. i gave that a shot and no luck. in fact, i deleted the entire wfsection_article.html file and it still nothing worked. i even deleted everything in templates_c in case it was caching. still didn't work. could this code be contained a little deeper in the logic?

- nautis

Ok, first rule when changing a template file is always to update the module afterwards, there was no need to delete the whole file.

The wfsection_article.html file contains every bit of info that you do not want and deleting the correct items should have done it. Thats if you updated the module afterwards.

download this file and overwrite the original file (wfsections/templates/) and then update wfsections from module admin. This should get rid of all the info that you wanted.

You can then compare both files to see what was removed for future reference

- matthew

You can remove the reference to them in wfsection\templates\wfsection_article.html

I asked to show on the left the item "WF-Section Topics".

About my "weight" issue: i don't want to order also the articles by weight, but only categories and subcategories.

change that line to //$xoopsModule = XoopsModule::getByDirname("wfsection"); and see what happens?
