Re: create a character module

I didn't get the impression that the avatar module offers more than being able to add pictures.

I was thinking more in the lines of being able to add information to the picture, so the picture is not the center of it all.

So for each character you could have:
Pic, name, bio, and depending on the site, perhaps things like superpowers, weapons, likes, dislikes, etc.

I was just wondering if there was something like that around already.

create a character module

Does anyone know if there is a module where users can create characters (video game, MOD, cartoon, etc.)? So each character would have a picture/drawing, some description, bio, extra info.

I guess it could be used for role playing sites, fantasy, writters' clubs, for example.

Re: HTML blocks and layers....sometimes work, sometimes don't

I don't understand what you mean by layers...

If I saw the code I might be able to help. Is the site up somewhere?

Re: Different Text Sizes

Check the css file for the forums:

/modules/newbb/newbb.css

Maybe there the font is set differently.

Re: Setting Newbb 2 - to show newest post for anonymous

Have you tried going to the admin interface, System > Groups, and then choosing anonymous users and checking the box for that block?

Re: web comics module (for publishing and displaying original comic content)

Have you checked coppermine?

I think you can even integrate it into xoops. I've seen it in some XOOPS sites.

Anyway, there are a bunch of gallery type modules you can probably use.

Perhaps people with a gallery can offer some insight about the modules they use?

AOL email

Has anyone had problems sending activation keys and other automated email with aol?

When an aol user register in my site, the email gets blocked by spam filters and is returned back to me.

What could make aol suspicious of our emails?

Re: MIME type not allowed: application /x-gunzip

I'm not sure if this is it, but check in Preferences > General for "Use gzip compression?" You may have is set to yes by mistake.
