Now this is strange ... i answered this like at least 10 minutes ago and my posting is missing ?? (huh - if i go back i still can access it)

What so ever Apek81 is perfectly right.

However ... fresh from my browsers cache ...

Are you talking about converting from IPB to the XOOPS NewBB module?

Then i think you are out of luck for a complete transfer(users & content)

If you are talking about using XOOPS together with the 'IPB for XOOPS module' then it might look better for you.

Please check the website www.bbpixel.com on this topic. There are some downloads concerning this and in their forum their is a discussion board for conversion scripts.

koudanshi is very active and very good on this

*scratching my head ....* maybe i only previewed it several times ...

@uhu_alba:
Did you change your name here? You say you still have the problem but this is your first post. !?!

For the permissions:

Permissions in your site root directory should be:
- usual files 755 (except mainfile.php -->444)
- usual directories 755 (except templates_c, upload, cache -->777)

For activating PHP debug via phpMyAdmin:

- go into phpmyadmin
- in the left frame click on your database name
- in the right frame now click on sql at the top
- into the big textfield copy this line:

UPDATE xoops_config SET conf_value=1 WHERE conf_name = 'debug_mode';

- click onto 'Go'

Now return to your XOOPS website and see if/which messages are coming up and post them here.

And off you go:

click me

For everything you can´t find easily goto

Module Dev Forge (link also in the left)

there click files and you can find a lot of XOOPS stuff.

Right thats one way you could go.

If your database is not too big it should work. Sometimes phpmyadmin chokes on bigger databases. Then you could either use a script or other tools.

If it is not that large you just enter phpmyadmin.
Select your database name in the left frame.

Then:
- click 'Export' on the top
- select 'structure and data'
- click 'select all' if there is nothing in the database that should not be exported (otherwise you have to mark the ones you want to export by hand.
- select 'save as file' (optionally gzipped if you want)
and save the file.

For restore on the other machine just

- open phpmyadmin
- select your database name in the left frame.
- select 'SQL' on the top of the right frame
- scroll down to the 'choose' button and klick that
- select the backup file on your hard disk
- select compression if used before
- click 'go' to start the import

and you should be done.

You mean by transfering everything like before? Yes.

But you should update all modules after the transfer.
(Administration - Modules - Update) (Not uninstalling)

Sorry but you should reconsider. I dislike spyware as much as anyone else but there are several tools out there as adware which are well worth it.

Especially with Opera you get a real fair deal using it for free with ads. And you can even choose between what ads you want to see.

One more thing is that i really think as a webmaster Opera is by now a browser that should be used to test the website too. You might still have some Opera lovers under your visitors.

Main point: As far as i can see your website looks ok when used with Opera 7.50

Away from the technical part ... why would you want that?

If i saw a cc or bcc to admin in the header of my password recovery mail as a user i really wouldn´t like that ...

See also here:

The users passwords are usually none of your business and if there is something that needs to be done under the user account for whatever important reason you could still reset it to whatever you like. This gives the user the chance to notice that his/her password is no longer only known to them because they would have to have it sent to them to know the new one.

Yepp. Really looks great. *thumbs up*

Not even that much like XOOPS anymore at first glance.
(except for 'xoops' written in the test content all over the place that is)

Great job.
