Based on Ghias post I compared the files and added the hack to the XOOPS 2.4 rc. Seems to be working fine for me.
I have just added the comment_name hack and not the security image hack as XOOPS 2.4 by default uses the captcha for non-registered visitors.

display categories and subcategories publisher module

I am planning to use a clone of publisher as blog module and wish to display the list of all categories and sub-categories in right column. One of the blocks in the publisher module is the categories menu block but it displays only the top categories and not the subcategories.

Is there a way to display both the top categories as well as sub-categories in a block.

The comment + name hack on dugris site is available for XOOPS 2.0.17 and 2.0.18, has anyone able to make it work on XOOPS 2.3.3

When trying to use the hack files for 2.0.18 on the 2.4 instal i get white pages and an error on all pages
Fatal error: Call to undefined function xoops_getbasedomain() in C:\xampp\htdocs\making\include\common.php on line 82

Made some more changes in the design. Kindly let me know if its all fine now.

I also wish to make this website accessible on mobile phones and pda. What is the best way to go about it.

Modules I am using are:
Publisher
Blog (publisher clone)
Simply wiki
Eguide
xforms
tell a friend

Yep I am using publisher with .htaccess rewrite on.

Anyways thanks a lot since there are less then 100 urls I will add redirect rule for each of them individually.

works partly as it takes us to the right page but the url it shows is

how should i modify the publisher plugin for publisher module so that it works with the modules seo url through htaccess.
