That seems like it may work but let me ask some unquestionable newbie questions.
1) when the instructions say "copy" I leave the original files alone and make a copy of them in the new location?
2) In line (10) it says to install into XOOPS modulesadmin, does that just mean the last directory created (9), some, or all directories created?

Is there a wrap module that I just didnt see? I would like to have my all my phplist pages open inside my XOOPS installation from a link in a block. Have others tried this? If so what did you use to have it work flawlessly. If that is not possible can I incorporate XOOPS code into phplist to emulate my XOOPS theme? There is a header and footer function in phplist. Any help would be appreciated. I am just on the verge of removing all the static pages in the current site and using XOOPS exclusively to serve http://www.clippersswim.org.

Well, was not able to throw away any files with ANY ftp program I have so I used the ensim control panel that is on my server and was able to throw away all the files in the directory templates-c. Then I logged into the site as admin and went to preferences and reset them. Updated the system module just to make sure. Still only the title shows up in "Test Block". Site is superlists.net/xoops/

Tried to use fetch to trash forst the items in the folder- when that failed- then the whole folder- that also failed. Fetch said:Fetch could not delete "templates_c because the FTP Server says that the requested item wasnot a folder or could not be accessed.

I appreciate you reply but this IS a newbie section which usually means people may not be familiar with all aspects of the program. So, if you could be a little more specific in your help, I would appreciate it!

Do you mean that I should find a folder with that doc in it ( via ftp)and throw it away so the program can rebuild it, as some programs do?

Do you mean that the admin program can remove and rebuild that particular file? Where would I find that file. Which folder. Is it in the MySQL database or in the XOOPS folder?

This answer is just not specific enough for THIS newbie, sorry!

Did not add ANY tags. Only plain text just to see what it would look like. Nothing, only title. Updated all modules including system.

Can't seem to put content into a custom block. The block shows up fine in every page I indicate it to show up in but non of the content does, just the title. Neither HTML or PHP works. I am using a custom theme from this site. How do I get this to work properly?
Does this have something to do with the standard template?

just decided to trash the whole thing and start over. Downloaded the version recommended here, installed and I'm up and running. Don't knwo why I had the problem but couldn't waite to find out why. Time restraints called for the quickest answer. If this was a working site that needed to stay functional then other measures would have been considered. But it was a non functional site theat needed to be up and running by this weekend. thanks all for your suggestions. It seems to work perfectly now.

I just might try un-installing the entire package and startingg over. Re-installing the themes and modules is pretty straight forward.

That may have been true for the module I uploaded (i'll check)but the original module "News" was installed by the ensim installer from a package already on my server and i got the same problem with it "before" installing the new "content" module. And the new module installed without any problems.
