The xoops_session is a table (not to be confused with a session).

Sounds like an issue with either the user or webserver MySQL permissions with the new data you posted above. Make sure your webserver has permission to alter and create in your sql database. You may also want to verify that the user/pass for MySQL can actually create and alter... just log in under phpmyadmin (with the same credentials you are passing to the XOOPS installer) and create a table with an sql statement to check.

why don't you try changing either the name of your dB or the table prefix to make debuging things a little easier... you may also try without persistant connection.

Putting this up for reference....

It works just fine, the only thing is that the default tplset information has to be manually entered in the dB after you regenerate the system and all of the modules.

tplset_id (1)
tplset_name (default)
tplset_desc (XOOPS Default Template Set) tplset_credits (*not necessary)
tplset_created (* use the date from the first tplfile entry)

A quick question, please don't reply if you don't know for sure.

I had to borrow all the tpl_data and templates_c folder from one site in order to recover another (long ugly story), I have everything working now but the templates section of admin is hosed as I was masquerading to the bad install in order to get to a login.

While logged in as admin, can you empty all the tp_file, tpl_set, & tpl_source, data from the dB, clear templates_c & cache, then update the system module in order to repopulate the 3 tpl_ tables?

Seems like it should workfine, but thought I would see if anybody had anything to say before I try it.

Thanks

if it's just structure, you can cut and paste in any text editor... I know that doesn't provide automated concatonation, but it would make for a single phpma operation...

There is also the phpma import directory which you can set up... I've never used it, but I have seen something about it... have you got the latest phpma version? maybe check to see if it can grab everything in the folder in a single operation (otherwise I don't see much use in having to configure the directory or going to the trouble to include it as a feature of phpma)

Probably not much help, but at least I tried ;)

Post back if that doesn't fix it.

under system preferences:
mail setup to fix your mail issue. can't help with this talk to your host, but this is where you make the changes...

User info to change user auth settings:
Select activation type of newly registered users >>set to admin approval

edit user:
to manually approve the users you have who had the e-mail thing happen to them. put them in a group and submit...
