You can open the zipped backup that you make by saving with CPanel. Then decompress it to your hard drive and upload whatever tables you need to upload in order to restore corrupted or lost tables. You don't have to back up in phpmyadmin if you don't want to because doing through phpmyadmin takes alot longer. And you don't want to have to do that everyday when you don't have to. Backups from Cpanel do come out right. You can test that yourself by comparing a table you get from your backup copy from Cpanel with the one you get from exporting it from your phpmyadmin.

Re: best XOOPS wrapper for html + java applet? FC not working for this...

Here is the different ways that you can put the puzzle on the web, I save it as a web page and it creates the page for me.

Create interactive crossword puzzles:
Not only does EclipseCrossword have several different printing options, but you can also save your crossword as a web page. You can create a web page designed to be printed, or you can choose from different types of interactive pages that your visitors can play right over the Internet, using a Java applet or page scripting. It's easy - just click one link, and you're done.

Re: best XOOPS wrapper for html + java applet? FC not working for this...

Your's looks better than minehttp://magazine.crazy4realitytv.com/modules/cjaycontent/index.php?id=32". I misspoke before, mine is dhtml and uses css in the html file that the puzzle is on to get the puzzle to work. So there is no need for a jar file or js file since it's not java or javascript. So all I have to do is upload each new puzzle into cjaycontent and then add it to my menu for the puzzles and that's it.

If you want the free program eclipse crosswords here is the url to download it and to read about it.

Re: Sub-category problem?

You're right, haisam, it should appear. I have created several categories and subcategories and when I click on a category only the news that I put in that category and not a subcategory below it appears. Personally, I like it that way because I want my categories and their subcategories to be separated, otherwise what would be the point in creating a subcategory.

Re: Top and horizontal menu

I created one manually on one of the themes I used to use. It was just created by writing the html code into the theme.html file at the top of the page. I had a theme also where somewhere created a javascript horizontal menu at the top of the theme and I was able to copy that script into another theme. So it can be done.

Re: Block help

There is already a module for quotes in the download section of this site if you wish to use something that will work.

BTW take out the <? and ?> tags and just have the include part and choose save as php when you create the block. You don't use php tags when saving as php for the blocks.

Re: IPB 1.3 FINAL is out and...

Too bad you couldn't create a portal around your VB board. Or maybe you could hunt for someone that could do it for you. It would be easier to do that then to move all your current users into xoops.

Re: Xoops Hosting Forum Launched

I had problems with ipowerweb.com's support people. Plus the site went down a lot. They were always redoing things with their servers and it would cause my site to go down. Sometimes for hours! I am now with onsmart.net and I've only had the site go down once and that was only for an hour. Their support staff are fast to help me with any questions too compared to the ipowerweb people.

Re: Big dot in mylinks and mydownload blocks

By replacing the <li> tags with img tags. You will need to put the url to your gif into a img tag.

But someone else here hopefully can tell you exactly how to write the code to do that!
