2) I'd like to propose that the following posts get removed from the record. Please, a simple yes or no is all that's required. I will also ask for the 'votes' to also be deleted once we're done.
Comments for deletion: 11, 12, 40, 84, 85, 87, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 96, 97, 99.

Crip

my vote: remove all the posts listed by crip. Preserve them in another thread so no one gets pissy about it.

BTW - I have agreed to participate with this group.

I've used the same method as kaotik with good results - much simpler, too.

Question 1: Has the council and the foundation agreed to follow the recommendations of this effort?

Question 2: Can this group work strictly from the objectives, set their own timeline, communicated clearly, of course, and structure a functional organzation based on those objectives?

Question 3: Who's getting any work done?

Have you discussed options with other such sites? I think the proper etiquette would be to ask them directly. I've dealt with a few of the folks and they seem quite reasonable when approached.

If you are, indeed, stuck with those liberal permissions and you can use .htaccess files on your site, try adding this little directive to your .htaccess file in the root of your site

<Limit POST>
order deny,allow
deny from all
#modify mysite.com to match your site's domain
allow from mysite.com
</Limit>

I am deferring my response until later - the deadline presented to me was October 28th. I was merely stating my assessment of the situation and noting the conditions that will influence my decision.

My name has been forwarded for nomination and I have been asked to consider and respond - it is a difficult decision, only because of the personal attacks being made.

Any and all personal attacks, insinuations, allegations or rumors must cease before convening any new committee, task force, group or council and undertaking any new initiative.

Until these conditions are met, there will be no progress.

I am withholding my response to the nominations.

I am right there with all of you that have been part of this saga and I am at a loss, right now - it just simply is irrational that we are in this position.

If we were to remove all personalities from these discussions, identified the issues and set ourselves to work, we would be releasing XOOPS 4 by the end of the year! But, we waste our energies attempting to fix the blame instead of fixing the problems. What a sad state of affairs this is.
