EDIT: I have a new one now, but am on a month to month plan, so I can still listen to offers, but I have relocated at least for this month. If they are no better I will move again.

I am thorougly unhappy with my host Netfirms and am looking to move. I am seeking out recommendations on a quality hosting provider. Any and all recommendations welcome.

Any hosting provider that can _guarantee_ a reliable level of service can contact me at reliable57 AT yahoo DOT com. (EDIT: Changed the email addy as my mail is down).

Here's my current bandwidth usage this month to give you an idea what range of service I need. I am small but growing. Or I was before my provider ruined my site's rep with 2 straight days of horrible performance:

Total Bandwidth for Month: 3574.39 MB
Average Per Day: 115.30 MB

Tom: Good instructions from Catz in the install.txt file

Catz: One file appears missing. If I click on upload manager configuration I get:

/modules/wfsection/admin/imgupload.php was not found on this server.

Other than that, upgrade went without a hitch.

Very nice Catz! Thanks for the hard work.

...off to do my upgrade.

Thanks again.

put a check next to the table in question and then go down to the bottom of the page and there is a drop down box, pick repair from there.

First thing to do is back up your whole db in case something goes (more) wrong.

Then I would try and run a repair on the table.

ANything is possible, but investigate the technical first.

I tried to register to see if I could help, but it returned the following:

" Could not register new user."

Perhaps a dev will read and be able to know what is going on.

Maybe I am paranoid, but this is what I would do.

Backup your database & your site.

Then I suggest you create a new admin/webmaster account with
a different password and delete the old admin account.

Backup the database a second time.

Then I would also change the MySQL username and password and
alter my XOOPS install to use the new combination. (You
cold even clone the database over into one with a new name
as well). I believe the database connection information is
stored in mainfile.php, but it may be somewhere else too,
perhaps one of the developers can give more info on this.

Last, make sure your session time isn't set for very long
and make sure you choose logout each time so that the
webmaster session is terminated and not left open.

If something goes wrong, you have a backup of your site and
two of your database to revert to.

That one didn't work for me. An 80x80 topic image would still bleed down on a news article with 3 or less lines in its summary.

Also, there is about one "blank page - please help" post here per week (at least). Did you do a search to see if any previous posts could help you out?

I am putting together a meta-page for answers on this, since it comes up so much. Please feel free to add to it. I compiled it from what I could find in these forums + FAQs.

http://linux-universe.com/wiki/?id=XoopsBlank

Then I can just cut&paste the URL. :-p
