You should edit the newbb_viewtopic_flat.html and newbb_viewtopic_threaded.html in the newbb section of your templates.

Yes. I'm positive this is the active template. All other changes I've made have displayed without problems... and yes, I am editing from the admin area.
The problem exists only with newbb_thread.html and newbb_item.html. I make a change in the admin area, it DOES save, but it does not display on the front end.

I ask because I know absolutely no PHP, and am entirely incapable of doing it myself. lol I would like the same outcome - I'd like to be able to call each variable individually, so that I can embed it in my own html.

I have a simple question.
Could someone demonstrate for me how I could take the above code and use it towards custom user profile variables (/fields)?
For example, if I were to add the custom field "gender", how would I alter the above code to read "Welcome, (real name), you are a female."?
Edit: This was not quite clear. I would like to show the information for the user whose profile you are currently viewing, not for the user who is signed in. I.e., if I added custom fields for "gender" and "emotion", I would like to be able to display, for each user, "(Username) is a female. She is feeling happy."
How might I go about doing this?
