news module block change

when i use news module on the main page to show the last news , it shows also the description of the section in which this news belong to .
and because i ve decided to use a flash banner as a description for every news section , so it looks really disturbing on the main page to see it .

is there anyway to modify that , so the news block shows only the title and content , without the description of the section ?

i cant see the modules im uplaoding !

i ve just installed XOOPS on my sever , ver 2.0.18.1
and when i upload modules to my XOOPS , i cant see it on the admin/modules page ..
i ve tried with several modules , its still the same , when i access the admin page for modules i just find the system module , nothing more to install

can you tell me where is the problem ?

everything works as it should .

only the content module is not working properly .. i will try to put a comment on the module page .

it works fine now , as i ve edited the block on my local machine and re-uploaded

new lines added on line 909

3 Questions about Blocks and Pages modifications

1 - i ve read on FAQ that i can use module "Pages" to add HTML pages i ve created to XOOPS , and i want to add to those page "Comment System" .. i can do that with some Module ? or if there is an easy way to do it manually ?

2 - i want to edit a certain block on the main page , so it doesnt look like other Blocks , what i want is to design it solitary so it will have a unique BG and Header different that other blocks , is it possible ?

3 - i want to edit some of the side menus for some Modules , like in News module , when u access its page , u find a small menu below the word News which are "archievs , sections , etc.." i want to remove , possible or not ?

hello !

im not sure if what i want to do is simple or not , but im sure its possible in a way or another .

in the news_block_top.html , that shows on the main page , i will assume it looks like this as a default ?

but i want to apply is to show like that

so as much as the "other news" below the main one , it should be divided on two columns , this will save the page length , and more it will add a better look for the overall page alignment when i use 2 blocks below it of any other modules .

i hope that someone can tell me what lines i should add to the template ? or else tell me its impossible :)
