Re: My Xoops home page is up! How do I create a second page?

Aw, dammit. Just when I thought I had it nailed.

Looks like it's Pico for me- And that means I need AltSys instaled - and looks like I need Protector, too. I sure hope these extra modules don't start to fight amongst themselves like the earlier ones I installed.

Here we go again...

Re: Can't see installed modules in System Admin

Thank you all! I've finally got a module working! It's TinyContent and it worrks beautifully for my purposes (once I can get the sub menus to work!).
You guys are so clever and so generous with your time and effort (and patience) - thank you all once again!

Amazing! TinyContent has delivered everything I wanted from it. At last, something that actually works (once I've worked out how to do the sub-menus, that is). Thanks to all who helped me in this.

Re: Can't see installed modules in System Admin

I turned on the debug feature in the preferences, tried the home page again and got an error message about "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION" in .../modules/count/blocks/b_count.php on line 2

Line 2 of this file reads as follows:
"function b_count_show($options){"

Looks like this simple block and my site aren't going to get along.

Re: Can't see installed modules in System Admin

Yes, the iMenu folder (with xoops_version.php and some other files and subfolders) is all present and correct in the Modules folder on the server. All permissions are set as advised earlier(see top of post).

Well, I got a bit further...
I tried installing the Counter 2.02 module (got it from the repository, here) and that instaled OK. It appeared in the module list and also in my blocks admin menu, (but only after I had selected "webmasters" as the group! That figures)

But once I have set it to visible, my web page comes out as a blank page.

Re: Can't see installed modules in System Admin

OK, MyMenu was deactivated then uninstalled. Then deleted from the server. iMenu was copied up, all permissions and directories conform as expected.

But it doesn't appear in the modules admin menu.. (sigh)
What am I doing wrong this time?

OK, I'm on it. MyMenu goes out, iMenu comes in.
I'll report back. Thanks.

(P.S. I got MyMenu from right here - xoops2-mod_mymenu_v1_4_0_marcel_widmer)

My Xoops home page is up! How do I create a second page?

I've just started using XOOPS (2.0.18) and I can't figure out how to create a new page! I have plenty of blocks on the home page. I notice that the drop-down menu at the top of the block menu allows you to show blocks visible in one page or all pages, but how do I create more pages?

Most web sites have more than one page. I have a horrible feeling I've missed somthing fundimental, here. Is there a "create new page" option in Xoop that I haven't found yet?

Re: Can't see installed modules in System Admin

I checked all the server naming conventions and directory structiures and all seems to conform to what you said. I also checked the file permissions and they are corrct too.

But you were right about the clashes. I removed all but one new module from the server and it worked... after a fashion. Other than the system module, I only have the MyMenu module in. Once it was the only one, it burst into life and allows me to add a new menu item - but the new menu item never appears, not even in the MyMenu list of added menu items. I get no error messages, it just blanks the "add menu item" form. Any ideas?

Brenda.
