I'm going to start with the theme.html file first and I'll look into the .css file second. I'm not sure I follow which line to edit, sooooo I'm begging mercy here. I've copied the "start of header" section below and I'm hoping you can tell me which line to change.

I've got some idea as what to change but I dont want to risk my website being screwed up so I would really appreciate your help, or should I say literally holding my hand thru this. I want to change the line that reads

table border="0" width="900" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">

But I'm not sure this is it.

Thanks again.

I have a site running XOOPS and currently it's locked into one width, meaning that the site displayed on a 800 x 600 you have to scroll horizontally and a the site displayed on a 1280 x 1024 has wasted space on the right and left margins.

I notice that the xoops.org site is not this way. What file do I need to edit in order to make it "auto wrap".

Thanks

You are correct, after creating an account and testing it I realize now how stupid my question was.

I have the "admin" email account setup the same as my "personal" account and misinterpreted the findings I see now the error of my way.

Thanks

I want to change the email address that is displayed in the contact us module. I've edited the database where I see the email address but yet I still have the same one when I come back to click on the Contact Us Module.

Can someone tell me what file or field to change so this will be corrected?

Thanks

With a little fiddling (southern term) around with the site, I've got it back in the saddle.

What I had to do is reinstall XOOPS and then import the database AND THEN I ftp'd the theme up again (had a backup) then viloa.

Just in case someone else runs into the snag I did.....

I get errors when trying to update the headlins module the error is as follows:

failed open fileModule data updated.
Updating templates...
Template xoopsheadline_index.html inserted to the database.
Template xoopsheadline_index.html recompiled.
Template xoopsheadline_feed.html inserted to the database.
Template xoopsheadline_feed.html recompiled.

Unable to write to main menu.

Rebuilding blocks...
Block Headlines updated. Block ID: 62
Template xoopsheadline_block_rss.html updated.
Template xoopsheadline_block_rss.html recompiled.

Module Headlines updated successfully.

I need to reset permissions I guess.

Hello friends, I'm at an odd point in this game. I recently moved my site from one server to another and the site is working just fine as far as appearances go. My problem is I have evidenly destroyed the default permissions that XOOPS sets up.

I ftp'd the site down to my laptop and then ftp'd the site up to the new server, exported the MySql database and then imported in on the new server edited mainfile.php and viola the site is up.

It appears that I have screwed up the permissions and I've been unable to find a document here or on the wiki page that states what the settings should be.

I understand that many files have to be writable by the server so I've chmod 755 filename. But directories may need this as well? I can still recover the information from the old server as it's not down so is there a way to keep the permissions intact and move them to the new server via fpt?

Thanks

At my up and coming/struggling LUG we have a library of books we offer to our users.

What we need is a management module that will assist us with check in's and check out's. Does anyone know of a module that will do this or something similar to it?

Is there a tool that will move the ENTIRE site including the DB to another server for me that you can suggest.

I want to take a "picture" of the site and move everything so I will loose as little as possible.

Thanks
