Back again :) gonna keep bugging you till I get it working.

So I found phpMyAdmin but now what? I've just installed XOOPS on my other host 'cause it has no other databases.

So I went to back up the database and CPanel X on my .com domain seems to not include phpMyAdmin.

The database file I named in the setup as stevenw_xoop1

When I go to backup in CPanel X the only database I can see is this

Download a MySQL Database Backup

xoop1

So when I attempt to, it downloads it as a xoop1.gz

Now what? This is so confussing my head is gonna burst.

Help me Obi Won, your my only hope! ;)

:(

I'm totally confussed.

EDIT-Bare in mind I'm a noob at this and haven't a clue where to save all the files or what files to edit.

I found phpMyAdmin :) Finally.

No one mentioned it would be on my server as possibly part of my hosting package.

My hosting use CPanel so I installed Xoop that way, maybe thats why I've never noticed phpMyAdmin before as I've never used it.

If you can't find PHPMyAdmin, how did you upload the database backup?

What? I never uploaded any database back up.

This is how it went.

I installed XOOPS on www.lifensoulonline.co.uk/testing

Once that had installed and I'd fiddled with it for a bit, I downloaded the whole Testing directory to my PC.

Thats it, thats all I've done. Thats why I don't have a clue where PHPMyAdmin is or what it even is :)

upload the back up of your database to your localhost in phpmyadmin.

Think I understood that apart from that bit.

Now I get this error:

This page cannot be displayed due to an internal error.

If you are the administrator of this site, please visit the XOOPS Troubleshooting Page for assistance.

Error [Xoops]: Unable to connect to database in file C:\Program Files\xampp\htdocs\testing\class\database\databasefactory.php line 34

I'm getting around the problem by putting them in the sections area. However, the sections area seems to lack the ability to add comments :(

If you check out www.lifensoulonline.co.uk/testing

and look at the menu to the left that says News, Archive. Thats all you can see. Then if you look at the pull down menu at the top just above the news your see there are different types of news, like Articles, Most Haunted and Reviews with a sub menu of Most Haunted.

However, these don't show up on the left menu system. Anyway of getting them to show?

Also if I choose reviews from the pull down menu. The page just shows nothing, even though there is a sub menu called Most Haunted. I'd like it if people selected Reviews from the pull down menu, for in the empty space, it shows all the different sub menu's if any, so they can then pick one.

Sounds complicated :) is there an easy way to sort this out?

Sounds complicated. I just did a test and copied www.lifensoulonline.co.uk/testing over to www.theskepticexpress.com/testing and that brought up the same error.

I take it that means I have to install Xoop and start again :( would be nice to be able to just copy over as easy as I was attempting to do aslong as the directory structure stays the same.
